Andruw Jones [the youngest inductee of the "Where Are They Now?" syndicated series] has declined the Yanks offer to attend Spring Training as a non-roster invite.
I grew up watching a dynamic Andruw Jones stalk the gaps to hunt down rogue line drives, take up the stick and swing for the fences, and steal bases with ferocity.  He was pretty clutch.  He was pretty exciting to watch on TBS on a Saturday afternoon.  Now, I half expect him to appear on Food Network touring Italy and eating pasta with Mario Batali.
His decline from grace, and now his decline of the Yankees offer, averts the inevitable Spring Training run-in with phys-ed fanatic Joe Girardi as he attempts to instill discipline among the rookies and invites, a… (more…)
