Joba Chamberlain got carjacked by Chase Utley and Ryan Howard, but managed to gut through 4 1/3 innings, giving up only those two earned runs. Mama said there’d be days like this. The bullpen took care of the rest. Derek Jeter had a steal. Johnny Damon got caught. Hideki Matsui went yard and so did Cody Ransom. Later on, Nick Swisher and Melky Cabrera piled on a couple more. Yanks had twelve hits in total.
Check out Joe Janish’s review of Torre’s The Yankee Years.
Mets and the Cards duked it out with 80% A Squads. Mets knocked in nine runs on thirteen hits. Maine was charged with one earned run over five innings. Bigga Napoleon says Lou’s Wainwright put a lot of runners on but struck a lot of them out. JJ Poo got the win. Jose Reyes had a day. El Grupo Carlos had dos exitos apiece.

For the record, I didn’t block Tampa Tina. I welcomed Tampa Tina with open arms. To honor and welcome her, I submit the following:

right on Lou.
Mets- he was ridiculous tonight
Murph looking good as well. I’m not gonna go crazy like some people but so far so good, if it translates in the regular season! Horrible defense though.
Ya know its gonna happen Mets.No way they give up the chance to have the to stud lefties duel in one of those pretty new ballparks. If you are talking about in the WS, that we will have to wait and see.
Mets- I said earlier, Murphy should bring a cleaver out to left field with him.
Citi ticket sales are down 10-20% from their projections according to Klapisch. That is a monstrous drop. I don’t think the old “Buy a ticket because we have great food” is gonna do the trick either.
A cleaver..hahaha. Yup!
It’s worth the wait brudda! Next years off-season better bring more toys than this years. I’m just sayin!
Mets4, does that mean you think omar could have done more?
Me4, tell me you know that guy. LOL
I think all of us probably know a ” kid from Brooklyn ”
Did I mention the Sawx suck ? Take the lead on Beckett, and hand it right back. But the don’t count quite yet.
Okay, let’s spin some wax
What is the payroll?
Could have? He should have! In all fairness, I believe Omar was on a leash! No open checkbook in Queens. I would have loved Lowe but that contract was ridiculous, be 4real! I still think a bat to solidify the middle of the order would have been HUGE.
Gotta check the roll but I’m almost certain it’s not much different than last year. That was Coupons’ goal.
T.J. and the Shondells. Alrighty then.
And Johnny Santana did look overpowering today.
Can’t believe no one has dropped Shuggie Otis yet. get ahead:
You know who is going to have the best record in the N.L., IMHO ? The one that has this rotation.
Webb
Haren
Davis
Garland
Scherzer
I’d say about 140 or so!
The Met payroll is about the same as last year at $137 mill (?) give or take.
Their payroll is going down next year- count on it. Nick Evans will be playing first. There’s 12 mill right there.
After 30 years, this cat is still underground. Him and Nick Drake (although Nick has been passed around a bit lately):
graggin the line…draggin the line…nice!
And another taken too soon:
sweet lib, sweet.
Lou -
Zambrano
Harden
Dempster
Lilly
They brought in 58 wins alone. Nevermind who the 5th starter would be. Aint too shabby!
I’m in on the Cubs, right up there with the Yanks or vice versa.
Lib thank you in advance for the “Nosferatu” nightmares.
Mets, I am sure omar was on a leash. How about an O/U for Yankee rotation wins, as set by other than Yankee fans.
Gotta say that Klaus Kinski looked better in that then in real life.
I give everyone nightmares, lev, and I never have a clue what they are talking about. Nosferatu, huh?
I love Cray. I’ll see that Robert Cray and raise you a John Lee Hooker live:
J- o/u 77 with the five they go north with.
And if this don’t make the hairs on your neck stand up, then ain’t paying attention:
Lib- That Drake music was paired with the flick “Nosferatu”.
levi from your keyboard to the injury Gods ears.

CC – 18
AJ – 15
CMW – 15
Joba – 12
Pet – 10
One of the big three wins 20 or more (at least)
hahaha lev. I didn’t watch that clip all the way. hahaha my bad. It’s very disturbing to hear the nice music and out pops Klaus Kinski from the darkeness.. oops big mistake. sorry about the nightmares. hahahah
When I think of unk sorting through all this music, I think of Robert Shaw in Jaws.
” The taxidermy man gonna have a heart attack when he sees what I brung him ! ”
CC 15
CMW 17
AJ 18
Pet 12
Joba/Hughes split 20
I agree Mets. But when your 4 and 5 are Jon Garland and a kid with the upside of Scherzer, unless your bullpen completely sucks, you’re gonna win a shitload of games.
CC 22
Wang 16
AJ 17
Andy 12
Joba 12
Hogwash!
but lib, that’s the junior circuit !
Hogwash to Joba & Hughes splittin 20. I wish ‘em luck but I don’t see it!
Good point Lou!
collective soul was (Understatedly) the biggest band of the 90′s. Includes Nirvana, Pearl Jam, etc. Collective Soul had the most hits out of all of them.
Although I liked these guys a lot:
Hogwash!
Pumpkins were cool.
Lib – I kill Smashin’ Pumpkins on Guitar hero. That track is bangin’!
STP – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qIP1hTFbuq4

Where did shoe go? He was talking about D II Women’s b-ball and I told him I tried to watch but it made my dog do this:
