  1. Yea, I saw that.Didnt make any sense.Maybe its part of the propaganda machine, ya know, Just because Melky isnt our opening day CF doesnt mean we arent still high on him, as a matter of fact, why dont you make us an offer for him.

  2. Mickey Lolich = Hall Of Fame. 1968 Regular Season, Denny McClain wins 31 Games. The World series? McClain gets clobbered, while Micky Lolich pitches THREE COMPLETE GAME WINS for The MVP. In fact, Lolich pitched Game seven on TWO DAYS REST! Ala Sandy Koufax winning Game Seven Of The 1965 World series on two days rest.

  3. Whats up Joe?

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 7:54 pm
  4. Also, MICKY LOLICH was a strikeout machine, and a workhorse to say the least (195 Complete Games).

    coltsoriolesbullet March 29, 2009 at 7:55 pm
  5. As a matter of fact, Melky was THIS CLOSE to making the grade. Starting price is …

  6. The Tigers lose Game One of The 1968 World Series with DENNY McCLAIN on the mound. The Tigers MUST WIN Game Two. Lolich delivers with a complete Game Victory.
Then, The Tigers lose BOTH Games Three and Game Four in Detroit, again with McClain on the mound in Game Four. The Tigers are down 3 games to 1. In another MUST-WIN GAME, Lolich again pitches a complete game, staving off elimination for The Tigers. The tigers win Game Six (The only Game they won without Lolich). In Game seven, manager MAYO SMITH has a big decision to make. Does he go with 31-Game Winner McClain on three days’ rest? Or does he go with MICKY LOLICH, on only TWO DAYS REST??? Smith goes with Lolich. Lolich pitches a Complete Game on only two days’ rest, gives up ONE RUN in 9 innings.

  7. hey lev what happended with the avatar? You’re still trippy in there.

  8. No video today.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:05 pm
  9. Last time I am gonna see them this year without a bunch of pink hat rays fans in the crowd.I was standing at that bar when Canos HR bounced off the roof of it.

  10. Mickey Lolich In The 1968 World Series
    ERA: 1.67
    WINS-LOSSES: 3-0
    COMPLETE GAMES: 3
    INNINGS PITCHED:27.0
    WALKS: 6
    STRIKEOUTS: 21

    coltsoriolesbullet March 29, 2009 at 8:07 pm
  11. Nice, J.

  12. Thats just about perfect Joe, coulda cut down on the walks I guess.I bet any BBs that led off an inning scored.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:08 pm
  13. 6 walks in 27 innings? How can you cut down on that?

    coltsoriolesbullet March 29, 2009 at 8:10 pm
  14. That was a bomb.Wind was blowing out to RF, but was still a bomb.He needs to hit .300 with 6 or 7 HRs in April and not having Big Al in the middle of the line up wont hurt nearly as much.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:10 pm
  15. I was being sarcastic Joe, but schilling never walked that many in his post season career, or at least in one series, did he?

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:12 pm
  16. Girardi could have said “Melky is an important part of the team, he’ll get his at bats, blah, blah, blah” instead he says “…not necessarily June 1″. I’m the king of negativity but this was the time to inflate Gardner without deflating Melky. I’m sure Gardner is thrilled no less, and he should be.

Lib: I got “name exists” , “password exists”, “password exists”- 3 strikes and I am out.

  17. DON GULLETT is third on the all-time Career Win-Loss Percentage. Spud Chandler is first, and Whitey Ford is second
    SPUD CHANDLER: 109-43 .717
    WHITEY FORD: 236-106 .690
    DON GULLETT: 109-50 .686

    coltsoriolesbullet March 29, 2009 at 8:16 pm
  18. Gullett not bad: 4 Rings in a row. I’ll take Catfish though with 5 in 7 years and WS appearances in 6 of 7.
How about Catfish with 5 20 win seasons in a row!

  19. You’re probably already logged in and you’re trying to re-log yourself in.

  20. BTW the Yanks never speak like the give a sh!t about their players, unless they have $8+ invested in them.

  21. How about your guy Palmer, Shoe : 8 of 9 years in a row with 20 wins. We will never see it again.

  22. What years was that?Last year I made a point about people having too high expectations about Johan.People were thinking he was gonna winn 20 every year.I said without looking that I know you would have to go back along time to find someone that averaged 20 over 6 years and someone came back with Marichal.I took his word for it.Gonna look at Catfish now.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:24 pm
  23. I don’t agree with that Lib. I really believe that Girardi has a platoon player’s “I’ve got a chip on my shoulder attitude” that he’ll learn he can’t apply to every player in his clubhouse. This isn’t the Marlins club with 20 22 year olds that he managed a couple of seasons ago. The one size fits all approach doesn’t work. That is why Bowa failed as a manager.

He is still the best third base coach in baseball btw.

  24. Catfish won 8 more games than schilling in 5 less years.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:27 pm
  25. Palmer from 1970-1978 won 20 games every year but one (1974).

  26. We’ll agree to disagree. I just think it’s a cultural thing. Why wouldn’t Girardi have a platoon mentality at that position, what’s the problem there? You have to be set with one player? That’s the rule now?

  27. Has Jerry Manuel given the green light to Dan Murphy in so many words?

  28. The guy just spent a month earning center field for the NY Yankees. Let him enjoy it until April 6 or 1 day at least. Gardner seems pretty self motivated if you ask me. He doesn’t need to be told it might not be permanent. Nothing in baseball is.

  29. you can sponsor Marichals B-R page for $117.I figured KFC would have jumped all over that.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:32 pm
  30. Manuel said that Murphy was the left fielder before he even did anything. In fact he was bad mouthing Church that same day and the next said he was going to get most of the time in right field. I wouldn’t measure anyone by what Jerry Manuel does.

  31. Odds on Melky being a Yankee on June 1st?

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:37 pm
  32. I’m just saying, of course Girardi has to hedge on Gardner because he doesn’t have that many ML at-bats. Of course he has to hedge. Understand, the #1 ranked prospect in theie system is a centerfielder. Gotta motivate him, too.

  33. 15%

  34. that article in the herald says something about B-R.I think someone said that HOF monitor is James if I am not mistaken and I believe someone said James is hooked up with them as well.Am I misremembering?

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:39 pm
  35. If you can’t get motivated being the AAA center fielder for the NY Yankees, I don’t what will motivate you.

  36. It is James’ creation J.

  37. That 15% would tell me that you think there is a 85% chance of Gardner being adequate to good.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:40 pm
  38. Is James hooked up with boston as well?

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:41 pm
  39. even if the Angels start playing with a short fielder (4 outfielders), gary matthews jr will still be on the bench. He will make that club house awful. At 33 million, nobody biting. For the Angels to move him, they will be paying. Come June 1, they may do just that.

I love the headline that the angels allowed him a day away from camp after the announcement he was 5th outfielder. Did they really have a choice? He stormed out of the room and left the complex. Should have fined him 33 million.

  40. fined 33 mil.HAHAHA, hey I will be in touch via internet voodoo one day this week.It may just be a consult and it may be a few hours, not sure.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:44 pm
  41. ok.

  42. The HOF monitor is a decent tool but it has Bernie Williams as a “virtual certainty” to make the Hall. Enough said.

  43. Thats the post season #s becoming the body of work and not the cherry on top as someone said the other day. That was put the best, I think.

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:47 pm
  44. Matthews is the Angels’ Swisher.

  45. The only way to make a decision about who belongs is to do the research yourself these days. No one can be trusted to be reliably impartial.

  46. O/U on Wright HRs this season?…same for Delgado and Beltran?

    jrzinbatonrouge March 29, 2009 at 8:49 pm
  47. If I was owed $30 mill and I was a .259 career hitter who has been with 7 different teams, I would keep my mouth shut and only speak to say “Thank you very much” every first of the month.

  48. Man Levi, you’re downright grumpy tonight.

  49. Wright 28
    Delgado 32
    Beltran 32
