Yankee pitchers let up only two earned runs. Brett Tomko bounces back from bad news. Xavier Nady was 3-for-4 batting between Mark Teixeira and Robbie Cano, who both homered. Robbie Cano otherwise left five on base. Melky Cabrera had three hits – our own Ollie Perez. Today, it’s A.J. Burnett versus the rrrrr Pirates.
Every Met except David Wright and Carlos Beltran had a hit, and six pitchers took the hill to combine for the win. T-E-A-M. Jose Reyes was in the middle of it all with a two-run single. Today, it’s Mike Pelfrey versus the Orioles. Shoe will be watching. Elmer Dessens is 37 years old.
