Yanks (11-10) win. Mets (9-12) lose.
Joba Chamberlain got a tongue lashing in the dugout from Dave Eiland after he nearly walked a batter home in the third, but really, it was all Joba turning Joba around. Bases loaded, he struck out their best righty hitter, Miguel Cabrera, with his third best pitch, the curve. The bats came back from there. Hideki Matsui has turned the corner, officially. Nick Swisher has carried the team through April. Alex Rodriguez is coming back, maybe early. Melky Cabrera is awesome until he starts bunting balls off his forehead and getting hung up on the basepaths. Yanks come home for four games with the Angels, A.J. Burnett starts us off.

J-Man Loses in New, Ingenius Ways; Yanks Take The Tigers
Hughes Rescues; Green Spleened by Cantu
Yanks (10-10) win . Mets (9-11) lose.
Don’t hurt yaself, Phil Hughes. Mark Melancon has that “old-school Yankee look”, doesn’t he? Hideki Matsui is getting better day by day, he’s starting to drive the ball. Raise your glasses, here’s to crappy teams! Slainte!
Who was that Masked Man? That was El Cantu, single-handledly ruining the Mets’ night. Livan Hernandez put in some good innings – to no avail. Gary Sheffield batted cleanup, which is about as good as Hideki Matsui batting cleanup.
CC Effort Wasted; Maine Solid
Yanks lose, Mets win.
CC Sabathia turned in a strong outing but the Yanks stranded 20. Verlander was aces, or, the Yankees are just too pooped to pop.
Alex Rodriguez is on the mend.
John Maine did the little things, like pitching in to Hanley Ramirez (maybe a little too far in), Mets win on seven runs of support. Carlos Delgado hurt his hip playing baseball.
Joel Pineiro won again for the Cards. Cliff Lee went eight innings for no runs, but the Sox won anyway for their eleventh in a row. Matt Albers fumbled a one-run lead in the sixth for Baltimore, who dropped another to Texas.
Rangers go tonight…
Alex Rodriguez On His Way Home
Peter Abraham says so. Hey Big Al, if you pass by the dairy on your way in, do me a favor and pick up a gallon of milk and coaching staff.

Hit baseball digest for the Yankee game summary.
Johan Santana: six innings, ten K’s, one walk. You have to beat the Nats after dropping a few to the Cardinals, and Johan and the Mets did just that.
Anyway, Happy Saturday. Enjoy the sunshine.

Mets lose.
Albert Pujols went double-dong to beat the Mets. Ryan Church keeps fighting. The Mets score late but the damage was done. Nelson Figueroa is gone, what to do now?

Yanks (9-6) win. Mets (6-8) lose.
Let me continue my rant from last night. The Yanks took 5 hours and 14 innings to finally put down that flea-bitten nag of a franchise, the A’s, and only because that flea-bitten nag was begging, over and over, to be killed. A bad omen is when Melky Cabrera is the savior. Thank you, Joe Girardi. We all know how many chances Tito’s Red Sox will just surrender to you to win the game. I counted three instances before extra innings and three instances after when Bob Geren unofficially handed the game over but the Yanks didn’t respond. BTW the Sox and Rays shut us out of the playoffs last year. A dose of reality: the Sox have a history… (more…)

Yanks win. Mets lose.
Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera have a classic evening for the 57th time. Brett Gardner is getting used to the warning track, just in time. It all came together last night, but let’s hope the Yanks save something for the big Sox series coming up.
Carlos Beltran is fast but he needs to get ‘em dirty right there. Dan Murphy’s physical comedy is par excellence, but it’s getting old fast. He needs to work on a “catch the ball” routine.
Check out my BDD Yankee game summary. Make sure you hit Uncle Sal’s for the Adventures of Dallas Bomber in New York City, a fun read and a sharp double from DB7.
Yanks to Bypass Wang for Series in Boston
This, according to Bryan Hoch of yankees.com:
“The biggest thing is that we get him right,” [manager Joe] Girardi said. “That’s the bottom line, we’ve got to get this guy right. He’s too good of a pitcher to pitch the way he’s pitched these three games.”
“The confidence is still there,” Wang said through an interpreter. “I know what I can do. I just haven’t pitched up to my ability yet. Hopefully I can get my groove right.”
Andy Pettitte, whose Monday start was pushed back by rain, will start on Tuesday versus Oakland. CC Sabathia will face the A’s on Wednesday. After an off-day on Thursday, the rotation versus Boston for the weekend will be Joba Chamberlain, A.J. Burnett, and Andy Pettitte.

The Yanks (7-6) grind out a victory to split the series 2-2 with the Cleveland Indians (4-9), grabbing a fan-assisted victory in yesterday’s action at the New Yankee Stadium.
A.J. Burnett, again being asked to stop a Chien-Ming Wang-induced landslide, dodged, ducked, and weaved his way towards keeping his team in the game for six and a third innings. A.J. smartly opted to pitch around the hot Cleveland bats – which had clubbed eleven home runs and outscored the Yanks 37-12… (more…)
