Yanks have 24 players set in stone for Opening Day. My BBD article sums it up. The more I talk about Ramiro Pena, the more I want to see him with the team.
Joba Chamberlain threw well. Projecting through the season, a strikeout per inning is a no-brainer. I anticipate the ERA to bounce around 3.20 as he stops nibbling and starts keeping his pitches around the plate. Melky Cabrera is playing for something, but I don’t know what. Today, it’s CC Sabathia’s final spring start, versus the Phillies.
Mets pounded the Marlins. 1-2-3-4 whacked eight of the team’s twelve hits. John Maine went 83 pitches deep. The bullpen was solid. Jonathan Malo is the second coming of Kevin Miller. Today, it’s Johan Santana versus the Cardinals.
Alright I’m out.
AJ will be on alot of rest, I think.

I saw AJ pitch Sunday.If his next start is a week from today in B-More, he will be on 10 days rest.I am sure he will throw but why the switch?To get Pettite one of the first starts in the new joint, exhibition or not?

I just read somewhere else Burnett starting Sat with Pettitte behind him.
That puts Wang on track for Wed. and AJ for Thursday.

SURPRISE, Ariz. -The Texas Rangers have cleared the way for Andruw Jones to make their roster by releasing Frank Catalanotto.
Jones, who won 10 consecutive Gold Gloves as Atlanta’s center fielder, recovered from a slow spring and is batting .293 with three home runs and six RBIs in 58 at-bats this spring. Wednesday’s move makes him the team’s fifth outfielder and a right-handed designated hitter.
Catalanotto hit .317 this spring, but he’s a lefty-hitting first baseman, outfielder and DH. The Rangers already have Chris Davis at first, David Murphy in left and Hank Blalock at DH. All hit left-handed.
DuPuy can ramble all he wants about new stadiums but even with sellout crowds Mets and Yankees will be down 500,000 in attendance because of capacities.
