Tex and Matty went DOING. Yanks finish 22-10-1. Happy Spring. They head north for two exhibitions versus the Cubs to break in the new Stadium, starting on Friday with C.M. Wang versus Ted Lilly.
Omir Santos had a day for the Mets with two dingers. The bullpen went six innings of shutout ball. Mets (16-14-1) play their last Florida game today verus the O’s.
Manny needs more at-bats. Don’t we all.

The stadium is gorgeous.
Yeah, Lib? What left the greatest impression on you?
OK, the rundown…pics will follow tonight.
1) Not a bad seat in the house.
2) The concourses are wide open. You can see the whole game on line for a beer. No more crowds between innings.
3) Main level is awesome. As awesome a view as field level, if you can believe that.
4) Bleachers are awesome. I would say 1/6th of the bleacher seats have obstructed views because of the buildout in CF. The view is grand, though, with full amenities out there.
5) Yes, it is cozy. You can walk around the whole thing in under 10 minutes without crowds. Getting up and down levels is a bit of a walk, but there are elevators and escalators everywhere.
6) More kinds of food and stores than I could count.
7) THe gigantic LCD is big and bright and clear. I took a picture that looks like the screen is just a giant mirror over the field.
It’s just very bright and breezy all around. Too much to say, you can’t see it in a couple of hours like I took. I didn’t get into Monument Park because of the crowds. Lots of people there.
Madden was on Michael Kay picking the Mets behind Braves and Phils. Both were bad mouthing the National League as if the AL west is anything to write home about.
Heard some chatter in a couple of places about the Jays going to a 4 man rotation and Halladay being on board with it. A little late in the game to be talking about it for ’09. How does JP Ricciardi keep his job btw?
MAc if I was to sum up my impression, it would be that the stadium delivers the feel of a day at the park. Lots of sunshine and breezes and you’re seldom further than turning your head back over your shoulder to be back watching the action. They really nailed it.
Forgot:
8) Seats are much wider to accommodate 21st century assprints.
9) Foul netting behind the plate does not have a top, so foul pops will drop into the stands.
AL West is a joke, Lev. I think these guys just bang pans on the bars to rattle the fans up.
10) All the LCDs in the place were tuned to YES. So Francesa was beaming throughout the park.
Sounds amazing, Lib. The open air part is exciting. Keeps the focus on the thing you are there for. The game.
Lib, thanks for the scouting report on the Stadium, can’t wait to have first hand look.
No prob. Pictures to follow tonight and tomorrow.
By the way, I’m changing my argument policy here. Game is on. Let the best man win. 2 men enter, 1 man leaves. mano a mano. All that good stuff. Hajime.
I appreciate that Lib. Far as I’m concerned it’s over. I said what I felt needed to be said and I will move on.
At the end of the day, I’d rather have you guys tussling here than on the DN, that’s for sure! Feel free to throw elbows.
Game on.
Glad to hear that your an Equal Opportunity Provider!
After much consideration, I realize, why lose the traffic? Besides, a little craziness gets it all going sometimes.
It is kind of amazing, Lib. Since the migration to BBT, you can look at the amount of posts on Yankee DN articles has dropped significantly while here at BBT they represent what was typical on the DN boards.
when I realized that the DN was taking my fervor and my talents and using them to drive site hits, I said, f it. I can be talking and learning on my own time. Ergo, BBT.
Whats up….BBT where we do food somethin like the warden used to.
J – just so you get the announcement, ST is over, game is on. Let loose the elbows.
BBT where we do food somethin like the warden used to………Whether you like it or not!If we are throwing elbows, can I go get straw?
Does anybody know what the hardest part of the body is?…………………The elbow.
Sure.
Just bought tickets for tomorrow night.
Unleash the elbows!
What did the tix cost ya, and where ya at, and did you get your court/funeral suit out, OH, you probably wear one every day.You just need the fedora and if you dont post a picture of you in the new joint in a suit and fedora me and Levi are gonna be pissed…I can speak for you Levi, right? At least on this topic?
$50, main level, dugout section 225. I’ll see what I can do about the fedora.
Bro, honestly you would let me and Levi down.If you cant find a fedora in Manhattan, I have no faith in this site.
Is that reg season price? Or is that an arbitrary amount for the exhibition.
Fedoraless….tisk tisk.
Sally, can we get bobby flay in a suit and fedora with the Stadium in the backdrop? in case LB halfsteps.
I’ll work on the fedora.
I think it’s arbitrary. I have no idea what reg season goes for, I want to say $65 in that section but with all the sellouts, who knows.
yabba dabba
Cool.

Not sure, caught it on SC and it dont involve the Giants remotely so I didnt look.Gotta be at least a 1st and a 2nd in back to back years or better.
haha. Ref was lib. Poor guy couldnt even go to Yankee Stadium without the gloves droppen at the BBT. Woops. My bad.
Just saw…they gave Orton, two 1′s and a 3. Pricey but if ya think he’s the frnachise for 10 years and a SB or two, he’s worth it. Im hearing he is one cocky QB. He can chuck it though.
Kyle Orton and 2 1st round picks.
I aint even read back through.I guess I need to.
It was nuthen. YanksDr was callen me a phony and I stuck up for myself. No big deal. Game on man. It’s all good. I should expect some shit for being a Mets fan here anyway. Cant wait for next week.
I gotta get goin. “Let em know your there” and “protect your junk”. Later dude. Have a good one.
ya phony.
Jrz- I’m glad you spoke up on the Fedora.
Hal hasn’t even seen how overpriced he is with the seats and that’s with 4500 fewer of them. The fact that they still have as many premium packages left as they do speaks to how overpriced they are. I would worry more about next year then this one. The ticket brokers will be choking on them this year.
game on!
I wish Selig would disappear. Opening Day is 4 days away and he’s ruining for me.

Please Bud-It is what it is. Yankee ticket prices went up from an average 0f $41.40 to 72.97. That is a 76.3% increase in the worst economy in 70 years. New Stadium or not; Stop pissing down my back and telling me it’s raining. I’m not going to a game for $5 to watch what happens on the other side of the field on a tv.
Happy Spring!
72.97 from 41.40
It’s official; Ryan Madson is the best pitcher in the game.
