Pictures of the New Yankee Stadium 4/2/09

Grabbed the camera for Workout Day at the stadium.  Tickets were free, but they were actually checking them at each section.  Believe that?  Anyway, I had about an hour to walk around and take it all in before I had to go back to making the donuts.  Here are the results:

  1. Mac – Ive been talken about those nooks and crannies out there all winter. Ahead of the curve! I think they will help Reyes have monster year with the stick.

  2. I’m scraping for site visitors, that’s why, Mac.

  3. Ah, I see. Cool.

  4. Kev, you called it. Some weird angles. But, like they were saying Reyes should hit a bunch of inside the parkers.

  5. Keeping score is not a problem, I do it all in excel and that makes it pretty quick. finding time to get all you guys together in the same place is a bit challenging.

  6. Yeah, scoring is pretty easy. I just thought it would be fun to have head to head games with the crowd here. The trash talk would reach new levels at BBT.

  7. Michael Young could be had for a song probably.

  8. Honestly man, I can’t stand head-to-head games. I just don’t have the attention span for them. They’ll be plenty of trash talk to go around week by week, I’m sure.

  9. Red Sox might kick those tires, no?

  10. I enjoy all the different scoring systems. Doesn’t matter to me. Just thought it would be fun to have a week starting with jrz vs kev, levi vs sal, lib vs ghost, etc.

  11. There has been chirping about the Sox going after him. Neither one of their SS can hit a lick.

  12. I would be a smaht move. Later Mac, I’m off to the uptown train. I’ll grab some more shots of nighttime at the stadium.

  13. Gotta get my Mets on! Mets vs. Sox on SNY. Have a good night. Good stuff today.

p.s. Melancon blows. Just kidden. METS IN 09!

  14. I live right near the 7 train and just saw a small herd in blue and orange. Baseball is back! Game on!

  15. Have fun fellas.

  16. Murphy is just butchering balls all over left field.

  17. Cano was all over that HR into the bleachers.

  18. You sure he dont need a year in LF at AAA?

  19. J-Not my call- wish it was. On the job training rarely works in the Majors.

  20. You are just seeing what I have seen for the last month.I told yas he was rakin.

  21. Can’t hide people anywhere on a MLB field.

  22. His bat speed looks tremendous.

  23. Mama just watched them turn that double play and said,”Hey, we watched them practice that play.”

  24. Jeter had pretty good sink on that throw to first. Maybe they will make him a pitcher when he is done at SS.

  25. I said,”I know”…and she said, “NO!, I mean that exact play!” and I said ,”I FUCKIN KNOW!”

  26. Funny jrz. Did I actually just hear a few fans boo Tex for striking out. I love being a Yankee fan but I can’t stand some of the fans.

  27. If Godzilla can do that this offense will be just fine till Alex gets back.

  28. Matsui needs to do a lot of that.

  29. The man is a professional hitter.

  30. Well, I said if Cano and Matsui start fast, Big Al wont be missed nearly as much.

  31. Wow, it is pouring at Citi and clear at Yankee Stadium. They are what, 10 miles apart as a crow flies?

  32. Wang’s getting K’s with that slider. If he can do that consistently I will take back everything I said about letting him go when he becomes a FA.

  33. You just forgot how good he can be Mac.

  34. If LB aint rockin the Fedora….I bet he wishes he was.

    jrzinbatonrouge April 3, 2009 at 8:24 pm
  35. Yeah, I guess I did. Been a while since he has been on the mound up north. Would still trade him and another arm for Halladay today. Last year he was starting to get more K’s with the slider. Good to see it is continuing to work. He needed to develop that out pitch.

  36. pole to pole…(HAHA)

    jrzinbatonrouge April 3, 2009 at 8:26 pm
  37. I would trade almost anyone for Halladay.

    A Who?

  38. Wow. Ransom showing some of the pop he had in AAA last year.

  39. how fast is Jrz? Whats the headlines tomorrow?

    jrzinbatonrouge April 3, 2009 at 8:27 pm
  40. Someone like McAllister.

  41. Whats the headline the last day of the season, when they spend all seasson in 1st?

    jrzinbatonrouge April 3, 2009 at 8:29 pm
  42. O’Neill-Piniella history very entertaining.

  43. Ha! Pole to Pole. Wire to wire.

  44. Can’t wait for the new season of Rescue Me. Such a great show.

  45. Kay has to ask Paulie about Lou every chance he gets.

    jrzinbatonrouge April 3, 2009 at 8:35 pm
  46. He loves to insert the needle.

  47. I like Girardi better as a broadcaster than a manager.

  48. That doesn’t bode well but I agree.

  49. I know it is beating a dead horse but Torre should be opening this stadium. Ground ball, ground ball, ground ball…
