Yankee Stadium Opening Night – Pictures from the Exhibition

The air is way different in the new stadium.  I’ve seen the light, especially after Hideki Matsui’s home run that would have went foul in the Cathedral.  Anyway, some more snapshots of the new Stadium:

  2. native–I’ve read the book—Torre did. Big time. I don’t like many parts in the book, and Joe was wrong for putting the stuff in there that he did. Nevertheless, Joe was still a great manager for the Yankees—overall.

  3. Ok–no more Melky/Gardner stuff. Points have been made and time will be the test. As I said before, agree to disagree. That’s all I have to say about that—in the great tradition of Forrest Gump.

  4. Yankees OF for 2010 … Damon and Matsui will both sign elsewhere. It will be Gardner in Left, Ajax in Center, and Nady in Right. Melky will be a fourth outfielder – somewhere else.

  5. So you got Jeter at SS for at least another season.

  6. I was a big Torre fan myself … till he wrote his book and proved what a hypocrite he is. Who the f*** was he as a manager until the Yankees gave him a shot? And how did he repay them? By doing the exact same thing he preached against all those years. He’s exactly where he belongs, over in Hollywood, kissing Manny’s ass.

  7. jrz, absolutely. To me, Jeter is like Posada … it’s not the same value to the team for Jeets to play LF vs SS, just like it would be with Posada as the DH vs catching. No one ever accused DJ of being the best SS in baseball. That doesn’t translate to putting him out to pasture, until he SHOWS he can’t do it anymore. He’s earned that much. And btw, one MORE thing on Melky … he wouldn’t even start for these Marlins down here (Maybin).
