YANKEES IN LAST PLACE! METS TIED FOR DIVISION LEAD!

Technically, Yanks are in last place.  CM Wang is on the hill today versus Koji Uehara (like kung fu vs karate), and with a win, Wang could possibly turn the entire season around.

Mets are already in the thick of the NL East pennant chase.  Mike Pelfrey – Mets4ever’s 6th man – gets the call versus Edinson (what’s with the “n”?) Volquez.

The draft went well but with a little hitch.  Supe tried logging in but to no avail, or, as I suspect, supe clicked in and saw what a tremendous job LB was doing with his team and decided to sit back and watch the action.  Last five rounds went Derek Lowe, Miguel Tejada, Akinori Iwamura, Jake Peavy, and Pat Burrell.  LB thanks you for your continued patronage to BBT.  Lou, the last-minute alternate, was sidelined with a labral cyst that needed draining.

In any event, the draft played out by rounds like this:

  1. 3rd HR? that projects to 243 HRs.

  2. There he goes again with the WarRam.

  3. Miggy with 2 HR’s tonight. He is starting early.

  4. ESPN commentators now having sex over Manny Delcarmen’s 70 appearances.

  5. Ha! Inge doing my work for me.

  6. 2 out BB…I’m just about ready for the Brioschi.

  7. “Manny Delcarmen is one of the hardest throwers in the league.” RIIIIIIIIGHT

  8. Alright, Uehara’s out. Open the flood gates damn it.

  9. Sux are down 5-1 and they are still pandering to the “nation”.

  10. Loaded for delgots!

  11. Lester’s a Verducci candidate.

  12. tell ya Delgado still gets the bat through the zone pretty damned quick

  13. Robbie lookin REAL good.

  14. That kid got a NASTY change. Wright is un-likable right about now.

  15. Hell yeah!

  16. 2 run single Beltran. Mets up 5-4

  17. “pelf” off the hook for the loss.

  18. Him and Wright are in my shit-house right about now!
Beltran another BIG hit, as always.

  19. you called it mac…perhpa the flood gates may indeed be opening…Nady hit it on the screws.

  20. RISP & starting pitching atrocious so far…hopefully they’re gettin it out of their system early.

  21. Sup, they always suck against pitchers they face for the first time. If the pitcher is a lefty they make him look like the Big Unit.

  22. Hey mac you a NIN fan? Got tix to see them w/ Jane’s Addiction & (I believe) a band being fronted by Tom Morello…nice catch by Gardner.

  23. ketchup on a hot dog is like me in a sox hat…just not right.Speaking of which, I saw an asshole at the Philly game today with a 2 year old sox hat and a brand new Phillies jersey on…pathetic.

  24. Murphy is a butcher in left.

  25. Lev – There’s gonna be some crazy shit happening out there. I don’t think they have any plans to platoon him either. Late inning defensive replacement is what we are in for.

  26. jrz Boston fans are like worms after a rainstorm since 2004…saw 3 Red Sox hats in Punta Cana to 2 NY lids.

  27. 1 more out for Pelf and that would put him at 4 scoreless after his 1st inning debacle.

  28. Yeah, I love NIN and Morello is a god to me. I saw NIN with David Bowie years ago. Strangest crowd mix I have ever seen.

  29. Man Cincy fucked that up real nice…who falls for the move to 3B?

  30. Pelfrey just got out of the inning on a third-to-first
bs pick off move and Bruce took off. Pelfrey almost threw it away but Castillo got Votto at the plate.
Reds run themselves out of the inning with Pelfrey struggling to finish it and Encarnacion standing at the plate.

  31. You will have a good time at that show, Sup. All great bands. NIN is amazing live. I got my tix for the 2 U2 shows.

  32. Bad baseball by the Reds there and they almost got away with it.

BTW- Plenty of empty seats in Cincy too.

  33. NIN & Bowie? Wow that’s a good unique bill. Reminds me of when Tool had King Crimson open from them on their Lateralus tour. I’m sure you’ve heard the late Johnny Cash cover Hurt? Pretty sick. Love Jane’s as well. Played lots of Nothing’s Shocking & Pretty Hate Machine on my college radio show, as well as RATM’s 1st album.

  34. Reznor is just on a tear creatively right now. He is one of those guys that just get better and doesn’t settle on his past success. I would have loved to see King Crimson and Tool together.

  35. BTW- There was a piece about artists scalping tickets to their own concerts on these re-sale sites. Van Halen, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel/Elton John. I guess they figured they were leaving too much on the table and wanted a piece of the action. Their fans should tell them to stick the tickets up their…..

  36. Yeah mac it’s interesting w/ Reznor…it took him what 5, 6 years to release The Fragile & now he seems to be cranking out albums on a yearly basis. I downloaded The Slip gratis off their site…only listened to it once but it sounded pretty good. This will be the 4th time I’m seeing them live…first time was on the inaugural Lollapaloza 1990 w/ Jane’s, Living Colour, Rollins Band, Ice T & the Butthole Surfers.

  37. I just projectile vomited on the screen over the bukuke session ESPN had over Varitek.

NIN is awesome. On my list.

  38. pardon, bukake

  39. Yeah, it was just a down pour of stuff from him. Yea Zero, The Slip, Ghosts I-IV. I wonder what stuff he will play. There is so much new material. PNC is such a fun place to go to show. It has a great vibe.

  40. did someone say bukake? Time for red tube…

  41. Ha! Bukake over the ball whisperer.

  42. How do they stand themselves? No matter how awesome a team is, you don’t say twice an inning how awesome they are. It’s just bad taste. It’s like GAY

  43. Especially when they are losing.

  44. Mac last time I saw them was for the With Teeth tour @ PNC 2 years ago. Tore it up: Hurt (of course), Closer (of course), Head Like A Hole (of course), March of the Pigs, Terrible Lie, Something I Can Never Have, Wish…pretty robust set. Going to see Black Label Society this Friday @ Hammerstein in NYC.

  45. I dig Swish.

  46. Versus the team they just couldn’t beat last year.

  47. Cap going the opposite way. Great to see that.

  48. Think Derek is enjoying a spring with A-Rod?

  49. pardon, Think Derek is enjoying a spring withOUT A-Rod?

  50. The crystal ball is saying something…Tex…0-1 popout to the left side.
