They aren’t going to be able to discount Sal. Francessa suggested that the tickets may start going to their biggest sponsors. That way, the company doles them and the guy next to them won’t feel like they got taken (even if they did). One of the few times I’ll agree with Frannormous. The Yankees can’t have a whole block of seats on each line empty.
must of been a rush just being in the new joint GDY, like you said you had a chance to visit the whole place so there was a silver lining, plus the price was right.
Hey GDY I know all about the Hard Rock. In Toronto you can actually see the game for free from the Hard Rock in right field. You think awesome dont have to pay for a ticket….2 beers and the ticket is covered – supper, you are paying Roy Halliday’s salary
Yeah the AIG boys and the likes is not good. Man I was there last year with a bunch of real fans…couldnt hear myself think half the time plus I was caught up in it….might be my ears but it sure doesnt sound loud in the new stadium and I can help but think that corporate clients aren’t grassroot Yankee fans
How can it still be hurt Sal…didnt Bruney have the same thing and he was back before the year was out. I have a feeling its a mental thing with Wang. Plus he goes back to Taiwan in the off season doesn’t he? …who has been keeping an eye on him in the off season
Sal I posted after his last start (April 14 BBT comments 2:20 ish) that it was mechanical and that he was out before his arm and that he may be favoring the foot. It would lead to the decrease in velocity that has been evident and Eiland had him throw live bp in between starts to work on his arm angle and “dragging the arm”, I believe later that afternoon.
It may totally be in his head but if he doesn’t correct it it will lead to arm issues.
They keep saying he’s 100% Bud,but I gotta believe that’s smoke.Wouldn’t be at all surprised to hear the foots still ailing him.I guess long relief might be the best way for him to work it out, after hearing Yank options are limited.Don’t know how many moves they have with Phil, but if it’s feasable, might be a good time to take a look at him.Injury or not, somethings not right with the Chin Man,and the rotations not the spot to tinker with it.
you think he stays around until the Det. series or should he go to Scranton? I guess he should stay so Eiland can work with him right? Also something Francesa brought up is getting another bat when teams start to dump, if Nady is out for the season. Matsui looks like he has a chronic knee problem. the getting another bat makes sense to me unless Jackson is ready, but he should play everyday at triple A, no
Sally, I havent seen the MLBN analysis so I will take your word for it.If they showed where he is not moving the same way he did before the foot it sure would make alot of sense.
Sal we had a discussion about it under the April 13 “Floppy Wang” article but it was on April 14.
Sal: I think Jermaine Dye is in right field by the end of June. It seems that with the Angels’ issues, The A’s may hang around them this summer. Dye gives you a veteran right handed bat in right. Start wishing for White Sox losses.
I was reading today that he’d have to clear waivers to head down. Not sure about the mechanics of that stuff. If it’s true,he’s gotta stay.I hear ya on Matsui, that’s not looking good at all,add in X,and they might be forced to think about another bat.The easier route might be take a swing at Ajax, maybe catch lightening in a bottle.
also Lohud had an update on big Al
This from the AP out of Tampa:
Alex Rodriguez took 75 swings and hit several long homers during his third consecutive day of batting practice in Florida. Rodriguez, expected to rejoin the team by May 15, also took grounders on the infield dirt for the first time and increased the intensity of his running program.
If he’s taking BP and fielding grounders from the dirt, he’s no more than a few days away getting in a game.
Well I was working J, I left the house after the 14 run explosion, I was being updated by my Redsox buddies. They were updating every 5 minutes. I don’t like crying in public. I was listening to Ma and Pa pinstripe on the radio, talk about drama
He makes some good poits Bud,I’d be curious to know were his mechanics that way through out the game or did that footage come after the oh fuck! point.JRZ,I don’t recall too many lower points at a Yank game, but WTF ya gonna do.I was calling for an onside kick at one point.
Thanks for the link Sally. It is clear after watching that what the problem is.His leg, kick, his hands…Like I said yesterday, Wang is a fuckin mess. Now they need to figure out how and where to fix it.
Sal- Plesac just said the same thing I said after Wang’s 2nd start. He is “out before his arm”. If you look at the video of Wang in his 2008 start, he is “tight” to his body with his front leg and arms. This year everything has been leaving early toward the plate but his arm. Eiland sees hit because between starts they worked on his arm dragging. Wang has to do it. If he is bothered by the right foot even subconsciously he may be favoring the front side because of it.
I was looking for the replay last night on Yes(How fucking sick am I)so I could check that out,but I guess it was on this morning, and I was still humming “Let me go home whiskey”
GDY- Great shot of Tex’s HR. I just had my 7 year old in here studying the full extension of his arms and the “power V” created by it. That was perfect timing on that photo.
Al, Tex and Dye in the middle would be nasty. I think Swisher had a good year last week and he reverts to the .250 hitter he is at best. If Nady is definitely done for the year and Matsui’s knee is going to give him trouble all year, they will have to do something. Scary how an overabundance of OF becomes a shortage in the blink of an eye. Swisher in right and Damon in left all year doesn’t work.
Thank’s Lev,I’m getting up to speed with the digital world, but all in all I’d rather be using my old camera.I got a little lucky there with the timing. That’s the only complaint I have with the new guy.On the other side I can snap off 150 shots with a memory card,so you can gamble all day.
G, yea the digital stuff rules.I didnt mess around much with the still shot camera during ST and spent my time taking moving pictures but Mama had the powershot and was doing some real cool stuff with it.She had it on continous setting where she would snap off like 5 or 6 shots during a pitchers delivery.
We got the kid the camera and the picture printer for X-Mas and I gotta say it is really cool.I have a bunch of memeory cards that I paid like 10 bucks a piece for and could go to the game and take about 2 hours of video and like 1000 still shots.Next year I get the tri hyphen pod for the video joint and I think I am gonna upgrade the still shot camera and buy a lens about a foot long.
I got an old Minolta 201 that I got about $3000 worth of lenses for.The shame of it is I hardly use it anymore. That puppy has seen lots of Yank’s go by the lens.I hear ya on the memory cards,I bring 3 of them with me and a change of batteries, and I can shoot non hyphen stop(love it when you go old school)all day.
I knew you would appreciate that one.I hear ya on the old school cameras, sucks to have all those lenses be obsolete because of film.Remember the old “Canon, The official Camera of the NY Yankees” commercials on PIX with Willie back in the day?
"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at-bats a season. That means I played 7 years without ever hitting the ball." - Mickey Mantle

Bud’s,I think a better name for him would be Sybil.Never ceases to amaze me how easy it is to keep a wee mind entertained.

ok Lev that makes sense. Yeah it looks pretty silly seeing all those no shows.
Also Lev, or G or C or anybody, I bought into the MLB.com video on Wang and his foot still being hurt any thoughts on that?
How can it still be hurt Sal…didnt Bruney have the same thing and he was back before the year was out. I have a feeling its a mental thing with Wang. Plus he goes back to Taiwan in the off season doesn’t he? …who has been keeping an eye on him in the off season
AJ BURNETT and BRIAN BRUNEY = Yankees’ best pitchers in 2009.
BRUNEY = SLEEPER.

Cd,it’s a pretty funky type injury, and can raise hell for along time.

O Canada, that POS on TDN is nothing more than that a piece of shit.He is also YankPR not DR but PR and who knows how mnay more.
Sally, I havent seen the MLBN analysis so I will take your word for it.If they showed where he is not moving the same way he did before the foot it sure would make alot of sense.
hey J.. tuff one yesterday bro. I finally had to laugh it off. when it got to 20 runs
Sal we had a discussion about it under the April 13 “Floppy Wang” article but it was on April 14.

ok I will Lev, I don’t like ozzie so it will be easy. Here’s the mlb,com thing on wang
http://newyork.yankees.mlb.com/media/video.jsp?mid=200904184208179&c_id=nyy
Laugh it off at 20? I turned it off after the top of the 2nd.GDY, that really musta sucked.

Lev,I’m likin that Dye talk.I was always a big fan.
yeah that’s a good point G, I don’t know, I was looking for anything to hold onto though. So far Pettitte has been a God send
onside kick, HAHAHA….Sally, I cant even imagine what waldman must have sounded like yesterday.
G, that is a good question. Now I want to see video of him in the 1st inning yesterday.
Yeah he is,and it’s always nice to have a couple of incentives giving you a little nudge in the right direction.
I stick to my April 30 prediction on Al.
Sal- Plesac just said the same thing I said after Wang’s 2nd start. He is “out before his arm”. Nice photo G, I didn’t see it at first, you and M4 got some good footage.
yeah Lev you guys are on the same page, good call
GDY- Great shot of Tex’s HR. I just had my 7 year old in here studying the full extension of his arms and the “power V” created by it. That was perfect timing on that photo.
Thanks Bud,that was the lone highlight of the day.Would have gotten a lot more, but I couldn’t find them.
Another question from me. How long can we expect the cortisone shot to give Teixeira relief? 3 or 4 weeks?
Al, Tex and Dye in the middle would be nasty. I think Swisher had a good year last week and he reverts to the .250 hitter he is at best. I was thinking the same thing,Depth…..Poof,gone.
I agree Swish is a nice platoon/ 4th guy, and we’re getting a nice contribution now from him, but we can’t count on him all year.
If Gardner is going to just slap at the ball, he better start doing it down because lazy “line drives” to left aren’t going to cut it.
JRZ,I’m working with a powershot myself.Nice little camera, and like you said, you can do all kinds of stuff with them
We got the kid the camera and the picture printer for X-Mas and I gotta say it is really cool.I have a bunch of memeory cards that I paid like 10 bucks a piece for and could go to the game and take about 2 hours of video and like 1000 still shots.Next year I get the tri hyphen pod for the video joint and I think I am gonna upgrade the still shot camera and buy a lens about a foot long.

Girardi doesn’t pick it up and you may be seeing Willie in some more Yankee Canon commercials soon.
Levi, who goes 1st, Girardi or Eiland? Or is it like a drug deal in Washington Hgts, same time, same time?
I sure do.Lev,even if the Yank’s were to make a move,I’m not too sure Willie gets the call.If George was in his day,it would’ve happened already.
I’m starting to think Valentine will get the call and that should scare you all.
Eiland gets “re-assigned” before Girardi goes.
That’s funny Lev,I almost mentioned that. You know that’s the move Georgey Boy would pull.
