  1. You know J- Someone told me a story recently about guys I was playing against and with 20 years ago using and I’m embarrassed to say that I was dumbstruck. The Bash Brothers were around then and I guess guys were starting to get “smart”. This has been going on for a long time.

Cortisone is anti-inflammatory not anabolic though Nooger.

  2. Levi—If there is a list with 104 names of wrong doers on it, just learning of one name on the list is wrong. Hunting Big Game or not. It is almost common knowledge that Piazza was heavily involved. He’s a surefire Hall of Famer. why does he get a pass?

  3. I can see how you may have been in the dark in that time frame. If you had no clue in 97-98 then I might have to question your credibility. It became very obvious to me that ALOT of players in the Majors were using after the strike.

  4. The minor leagues cost owners money J. Home Runs put fannies in the seats in the big leagues. They have been much more stringent in testing in the minors I believe because the players aren’t part of the MLBPA. I blame the stewards of the game for this problem as much as anyone. Selig and the owners knew this was going on and they all became very wealthy by the growth in revenues that came from the growth in muscles. The whole thing makes me nauseous.

  5. Levi, there is NO DOUBT that the powers that be knew and allowed it all to go on because they were making money.

  6. Nooger- I agree that it is wrong but 103 guys should not be penalized because A Rod came out. This list should not even exist. I can’t justify exposing 103 guys just to make A Rod look better. This was for a survey only. The union should never have allowed these samples to be identified with any specific player. The stupidity revolving around this test is mind boggling.

  7. I am embarrassed to say that I never connected the dots that lead to minor league players not being part of the MLBPA, I guess I just always thought of them as union members, but apprentices, ya know.

  8. Kev has to take the Sheffield Jersey off that he just bought and put on the Castillo one that he is about to buy.

  9. Hahahahahahah

  10. I hope Gardner was watching the game because Castillo has made himself a career of bunting and hitting the ball 105 feet.

  11. The bullpen had 4 scoreless innings again tonight. That’s good and bad. Bad because your starters can’t get out of the fifth inning.

Castillo is doing a lot of things right for them. I have to give the guy credit for having a lot of pride and doing the things he had to do over the winter to be ready this year. Good start for him.

13 lob again tonight- Not a good number. That can’t last.

  12. Phillies blew a 7-1 lead tonight early and lost. I like the Mets’ announcers but Heath Bell should be mad at the Mets and the Mets should be mad at themselves for trading him for a bag of balls. He’s got the closer mentality (eff the world) so good for him.

  13. Vlad Guerrero out a month.with the pitching injuries they already have that is crippling.

  14. Billy Beane is going to be called a genius all year for signing some of those older guys if they stay in the hunt for six months.

  15. The Red Sux wound up winning too? What a shame.

  16. It doesnt bother me so much that the sox came from behind since penny was shelled.

  17. Still, Pedroia and Ellsbury were 5-9. I’d hate to see them start hitting.

  18. another buzz killer, huh?

  19. The Angels were winning 9-4 going into the bottom of the eighth and let up 7 runs. They lost 11-9. You can’t make this day up.

  20. Great night for The 4ever Family. Came through with somelast minute tickets and had a ball. Literally for Jr, as Braun tossed him a Delgado foul ball. A night to remember for him, and for me to witness.
