Levi—I am prediciting that Kevin catches a Reyes foul ball tonight and sees his lawyer tomorrow morning so that the ball can be forever with him, including the burial.
I appreciate Hardy making that play, not the throw, just the dive to stop the ball.Nothing drives me crazier than when an infielder has a chance to dive and stop the ball from going through w/ a man on 2nd.
I am at the old mans house and the PC is in a different room than the TV.At my place me and Mama keep the computer in the same room as the TV because of the kid.Something we did when she was about 11 so we could look over her shoulder. So my posts wont be as frequent during games, sorry.
I just looked at the boston feeds and was surprised to see that Masterson and not Bucholz will get diceys start.Witout reading the story, I gotta assume that bucholz and diceys days werent in sync.
jrz–I was thinking the same. Not to support AROD, andi don’t, but that’s why this thing with him is so crazy. Wasn’t there mention of Cameron tonight, and his 25 game suspension last year for a positive test? That’s gotten the importance of a duck farting in salt water.
A Rod is the biggest star in the game Nooger with the biggest contract. Mike Cameron is the not breaking the HR record of another cheater. It is only a Yankee issue because he’s their hot potato and they have Crazy Glue on their hands. It’s a baseball problem and baseball has to live with it. As a Yankee fan there isn’t much else to do but root for him because they need his production and they are stuck with him anyway.
I like Arod, I root for Arod, and I think the way that Arod was singled out was unfair. That being said, I do not support what he did. ( I don’t think he supports it either right now). Baseball is a game steeped in tradition and records. Bonds, Sosa, McGwire, Palmiero, and Clemens, to name a few, were all very wrong and acted against the best interests of the game. It’s unfair to the guys who achieved things without using this stuff.
Nooger, I hate to break it to you but Big Al and the majority of MLB players are still using.I apologize, I shouldnt say it in that condesending manner but I fully believe that many players are still using and the fact that there is still no test for HGH tells me that things wont change. As a matter of fact, I think that within the next 10 years HGH will be a legal supplement in all the major sports.
Levi–I agree with everything you said. I will still root for Arod. That doesn’t mean that I support what he did.. When Clemens left Boston he could barely throw 90mph. At Toronto, he’s up to 98 and wins 2 Cy Young Awards. I rooted for Clemens when he came to New York. That doesn’t mean that what he did was right or in the best interests of the game. In fact, it was downright unfair. The way Arod was exposed was very unfair. Selective enforcement and selective condemnation in any arena is wrong.
All of those guys you mentioned have been under the lamp for this. Sosa, McGwire and Palmiero were trotted in front of Congress and embarrassed. Bonds, Clemens and those 3 may not get into the HOF for years if ever. A Rod hasn’t been singled out, he’s just taken his star turn. How many others are we going to see? We hunt big game in this country and these guys were the biggest in the sport. Unfortunately A Rod is still in his prime.
Levi, you said the other day that you played organized ball til you were 30, right?I remember hearing that minor league players couldnt wait to get to the show so they COULD use. That was about 7 or 8 years ago, any truth to that statement?
Jrz–I have no knowledge if most use HGH or they don’t. I know that by mandate, they’re not supposed to. Rules are established for fairness and for what’s in the best interests of the game. I know when a pitcher gets old, or when a batter is near 40, they shouldn’t be able to do things that they couldn’t do when they were 32. IF HGH becomes legal, then so be it. Maybe it will. Cortizone is a steroid, isn’t it?
Yes cortisone is a steroid and I have brought that up before.Noogs, I remember when I was a kid and there may have been a handful of players playing at a high level after the age of 35, for the last 15 years this has been the rule, not the exception. They are all on something.
"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at-bats a season. That means I played 7 years without ever hitting the ball." - Mickey Mantle

They are giving penny 3″ off of each corner, lets see if they do the same for Guthrie
I guess the sox are gonna wear that hat that looks like the hanging sox are teabagging the player every Friday.
Nooger-burial-hahaha
J-teabagging in Boston-lol
Guthrie didnt get the corners, by the way
Levi, I swear to god, it looks like the father from “the Family Guys” chin hanging on the front of their hats.
Castro just walked with the bases loaded. How do you walk a guy who is hitting .150 and force in a run?
Schneider on the DL.
Maybe they should have signed Pudge and gone for oldest team in MLB again.
Peter the Family Guy-LMAO

Nothing drives me crazier than when an infielder has a chance to dive and stop the ball from going through w/ a man on 2nd……….and he doesnt!
Utley with a 3 run hr for the Phils. There’s hope for Al. haha
You see it all the time too J.
40 pitches in the first for Chris Young. Is it me or have there been very few good pitching performances so far this year?
ALL the time.Levi, I am serious, it makes me wanna throw the TV out the window.
Even when its NOT my team.
I can’t tell you how many times I said “knock it down with a dive” over the years and you see no effort by guys to keep it in the infield.
I am at the old mans house and the PC is in a different room than the TV.At my place me and Mama keep the computer in the same room as the TV because of the kid.Something we did when she was about 11 so we could look over her shoulder. So my posts wont be as frequent during games, sorry.
Os 7-0 nil….Penny sure is low risk, not so sure about high reward.
7-0 lead and you let them back in the game. Are there any pitchers out there?
nope
Bruney Sleeper.
Jimmy Johnson is the best relief pitcher in baseball.
Sometimes baseball is only sleeping. One inning 2K’s, 0 BB’s, 0 runs, 0 hits.
Joe, how did your boy let them get back in this?
Berroa just hit another HR, 4th on the year. How long can they keep him and his righty bat down there.
JRZ: I wasn’t watching until now. Although I did note that you thought Guthrie was not getting calls that Penny was getting.
Levi, I just saw your boy warmin up.Whattya gimmie for Marte?
Joe, in the 1st, penny was getting a big strikezone.Roberts was called out on strikes in the 1st on a ball that was 3″ outside.
I wonder if Kev thought that was a “cheap HR”
go get’em now Jerry, the damage is done.
I just looked at the boston feeds and was surprised to see that Masterson and not Bucholz will get diceys start.Witout reading the story, I gotta assume that bucholz and diceys days werent in sync.
David Ortiz is hitting .167 with a slugging average of .194. No homers. Big Grandpapi, indeed.
Grandpapi-lol
Levi—Boston just ties it at 8 –no lol for me after the Birds being up 7 nil. I hate Boston almost as much as taxes.
Sheff 500
Wow, I wonder if the metsies on the DN will accept that run to tie the game?
Nooger- You heard that April 15 is the new April Fool’s Day- we are the fools.
Kev has had lots to say about the Yankees and steroids and none of it nice, anybody think he kept his ass in his seat on that long ball?

I support Big Al and you should too.
BUNT STRIKES Murphy

That play by Hall couldnt have been made any nicer.
