Eight minutes for the first replay of the year- all because umpires are lousy at their jobs.

The games aren't long enough. Instead of calling every checked swing a strike, maybe we could hold pitchers to the 20 second rule and keep batters in the box. I know that would cut down on batting glove tightening time but right now you can go to commercial between some of these pitches.

I mentioned Melky's homer Saturday in the embarrassing blow-out, but should have focused on the Friday Melky homer in a one run win. Eric Wedge was quoted as saying that Melky's homer was the most impressive of all the Yankee ones that day. I never said that Melky was great. I'm comparing him to what's there now. Kevin is right--the Yankees should mold the team to what the new stadium gives them. Gardner is defensed like you would a fast guy in a softball game.

Nooger - Yeah. A CF that can flash some leather with moderate power from the left side would be entertaining and productive at the new stadium.

jrz - let me know if you hear about the DH possibility. In my fanatsy league Id liek to pick up Jack Cust if he is playing 3 games at the new stadium. He likes to grip and rip and might like that RF porch.

Kev--- I think Beltran on the Yankees would be awesome. I only hope that Austin Jackson, if he gets here, can do half the things Beltran does.

Hi Levi--I didn't realize that Boone had ascended to that level of Yankee greatness. After I left last night, Native made the point that Melky has never done anything special offensively. How about a homer Saturday, which without, they probably don't win? In his book, Joe Torre praises Melky, saying that he always seems to be in the middle of something good happening. You made a good point about how Melky was similar to Cano in terms of attitude. Melky is not as talented as Cano ,but he is light years ahead of Gardner. I'm going to try not to talk about this much any longer because I see that when people start capitalizing their responses, they're getting really aggravated and taking my critique of a player personally. That's not fun for me.

Good point Kev...makes me wish Cashman hadn't shunned Boras when he came to him before he settled on the Mets for Beltran.
