Yanks Walk Off April; Mets Ward Off Phils

Yanks winMets win.

Jorge Posada, line drive base hit to left field.  Nice way to end a mudder.  Ramiro Pena fits in nicely.  Nick Swisher’s x-rays were negative, he’s day-to-day with a bruised elbow.

Good things happen when Carlos Beltran resolves to get ‘em dirty.  Dan Murphy – I’ll lay off that one.

  1. Bobby Abreu is leading the Major Leagues on May 2 with 11 sb. It is amazing what a 67% cut in pay will do to a guy’s play.

  2. Shoe- I checked to make sure it was Bobby too.

  3. Thanks, LEVI.

  4. Abreau has 329 career steals already. His career batting avg. is .301. He’s knocking on the Hall with two more good years, unless they catch him juicing. He’ll get at least 400 steals, maybe 500, plus his homers, RBI’s, and batting average.

  26. Stop, my mouth is watering.

Daivid Wells is announcing for TBS now. The Globe has a pretty good article on him. The link is on the right.

  27. Blacked out on TBS and the game is on FS, which as you know is not available to me…nice, huh.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 3:27 pm
  28. I just turned it on TBS.

  29. Levi, the only problem is bread.I get an “ok” loaf at one place but nothin like up north.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 3:30 pm
  30. Bread is key too. My brother made a sausage and pepper roll yesterday that was outstanding.

Buck Martinez is next too impossible to listen too.

  31. He IS impossible for me to listen to, since I cant!I love the sausage and pepper roll. That just gave me a great idea for breakfast one day this week.I aint had a pepper and egg sandwich in forever

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 3:37 pm
  32. AND, I got a place down here to buy Taylor Ham…A Jersey favorite.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 3:37 pm
  33. I used to get a pepper and egg sandwich from a guy on the street in NYC that was ridiculous. The roll he used was the clincher.

  34. j, I hope you have enough red wine for everybody.

If you’re not familiar, these guys smoke.

  35. Verlander threw 7 innings today: 2 h 1 r 3bb 11 k.

  36. Got that Texas sound, very nice Lou.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 3:52 pm
  37. Big Game James handlin his business.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 3:53 pm
  38. Cant keep a good pitcher down forever, talkin bout Verlander.Thats 2 very solid starts in a row for him, at least. Now CC needs to stop havin that one bad inning or Girardi needs to be quicker on the draw.I think Tomko aint on the 40 man so thats why I assume Claggett got the call instead.I would really like to know what Cashmans thinkin w/ Brett.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 3:56 pm
  39. I have no idea what they are doing with Tomko. Is he closing in Scranton? I think I have seen enough of Claggett.

  40. Not sure if he is the closer, good question.Gonna take a look now.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 4:03 pm
  41. Crawford ABUSING Veritek today…

    supernaut924 May 3, 2009 at 4:04 pm
  42. He has 2 saves and there are a few guys with one, so I guess he is the 1st option.Good eye, Levi.Maybe thats the agreement he has with Cash. The Yankees will give him a chance to close and jump start his career and he wont bitch about being in SWB.He is 36 though, not sure how long he is willing to wait.He has to be a better option out of the pen than Claggett right now though.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 4:08 pm
  43. Hey spirit did I read earlier you hit w/ Mine That Bird yesterday…nice job man.

    supernaut924 May 3, 2009 at 4:11 pm
  44. We were talking about SWB one day early in their season and he had a save and I thought that was odd. I don’t get it. It seems they are flying by the seat of their pants right now with the pen in the Bronx. The wheels have come off out there and I certainly did not expect that especially from Veras.

  45. Redbirds washed out.

    j, google them ( T.B.P. ). It’s an all star team.

  46. STL rained out so I still have Longoria,Young(Michael) and I’ll take Jermaine Dye
    Rangers/ChiSox tonight

  47. That was me Super.Won $2500.The horse trains here near El Paso at the Sunland Park racetrack
Figure I’d try to take a local boy

  48. I didnt expect it from the whole pen.How they could be so strong last year and in such shambles this year is beyond me.Like I said yesterday, maybe they can get a group rate at some headshrinker.Lou, I will check out TBP in a bit.I got the sauce on cruise control and am gonna step out for a drink.Catch up with yas in a bit.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 3, 2009 at 4:20 pm
  49. BR2 bro well done. I had a $2.00 on a 50-1 shot (Desert Party)…plus a triple box & an Exacta wheel w/ Pioneerof The Nile. $2K payout on a straight exacta. But dude that’s a great hit…even in today’s $$ that $2500.00 will buy a lotta suds & sausage right Babe?

    supernaut924 May 3, 2009 at 4:26 pm
  50. Atta baby, BR2.

Gotta run, but I’ll leave you with a kid I hadn’t heard about until last week.
