You can’t win this game without a lineup, and the Yanks just don’t have one. Nick Swisher is all about lighting fires. The Yanks should have a designated ejection, seems to be the only thing keeping them in the ballgame.
Once more, baseball is a game you can’t predict. Carlos Delgado scored the lone run by hustling home on a throwing error by Pedro Feliz and a triple-pump on the throw home by backing-up RFer Jayson Werth. Like Shoe said, STUNNED. It’s a “w”, so it doesn’t matter how it happens.

They have got Pena and Cervelli 8,9 in the lineup right now. It’s like Trenton North for God’s sake.
super –you are right. However, they’ve scored more than enough runs to win. the Big Guy should have been on the mound tonight.
Couldnt miss the 1st time.Swear to God.I can play but I played way above my head the 1st time and thats why I kept goin back.Never got nothin but respect and many handshakes everytime I showed up.”Leave the White Boy be”
Maddon over managing here.
Jrz – Haha – Reminded me of a flick called The Wanderers.
Bro, the Bronx is a mess right now. How do you right the ship?
Big AL tomorrow.Maybe the cleanup hitter coming back will help them score 8 runs a game and be able to give up 7.Other than that, I dont know.
The Orioles swept two games from The Twins. Yippee.
Guys, I won’t be here tomorrow unless The Orioles lose. You know the routine.
Nooger – I like the Citifield dimensions. Plenty of legit bombs tonight for me.
You should be here everyday, regardless.
I said Frankie was the best. Mo with the quick confirm.
Actually to be honest, I was watching Mo in amazement before the Crwaford took that inside pitch over short porch.
Kevin–couldn’t agree with you more. I saw Howard’s bomb tonight and it cleared the fence by maybe 15 feet. That would’ve hit the train in the Bronx. I need to see some stats concerning when there were eight home runs in a game at the real Yankee Stadium.
Dodgers put up a 6 spot in the first inning on the Nats. I guess they are feeling pretty confident out there. I couldn’t think of a better team to draw after today’s events.
Maybe the last time they were last in MLB in pitching.
Willie Montanez
Levi–watch the papers tomorrow—-I’ll be shocked if there are not multiple articles about this embarrassing bandbox. I was there, saw it, and hate it. The security force act like prison guards and they treat everyone like shit. $9 for a beer. $25 for a yearbook. $10 for a program. The whole place is one big disappointment. They’ve alienated their best fans.
Who was the rival player that called the new Yankee Stadium “The Titanic”?
Levi–if you lead the league in ERA–all the more reason to get your 180 million dollar guy out there every fifth day. You work the rest of the staff around him. But I said that earlier and you disagreed. Andy has been throwing melons the last three games. I see him like last year.
I don’t doubt you Noogs. The only thing to do is not go. Fans should take back their teams from the Levines and Trosts of the world. They haven’t won in 8 years and every inning of every game I have to listen to Kay’s big mouth saying, “After 86 years of greatness, blah, blah, blah” What have you done for me lately? We are in the middle of the worst recession in 80 years and they jacked up the average price of a ticket 76%. To add insult to injury they walled off the premium seats from the rabble. The rainout/non-rainout was a disgrace the other night.
I think that The Mets should build a monument in Citi Field for Johan Santana RIGHT FUCKING NOW!
I think the headlines tomorrow will be “This team stinks”. The stadium is the least of the issues so far. So CC and his 1-3, 4.85 era go today and the O’s beat the tar out of Andy tomorrow?
stata buon fellas…good night & God Bless.
How ‘Bout ‘Dem Mets???
Levi–just walking around, I was approached by security at ;east a half dozen times–wanting to know if I had a ticket for that section, etc. And I wasn’t even trying to sit down—just walking, then stopping and standing. Then you are told–you can’t go there—that was when I wanted to look down over the rail in the second deck and see the bullpen. I was overall–totally turned off. Looks like a lot more people besides me won’t be quick to go back.
I still disagree. Your $180 million pitcher hasn’t exactly been a stopper out there lately. You have a 37 year old pitcher who is already on long rest and doesn’t need to be pushed back further. Orioles or Rays doesn’t mean a thing at this point. In fact, now CC has to stop it because they’ll be looking up at the whole division soon.
The stadium is the least of the issues? Are you kidding me? They are very rapidly losing their fan base because of what’s happening at the stadium. And I don’t mean poor play.
Nooger- I hate to hear that fans who might be going to the new place for the first time after going to the old place for decades are treated like they are trying to sneak in through a hole in the fence. If my son wasn’t bugging me to go, I wouldn’t even think about going. This treatment has been trending that way from both teams over the last few years. I went to Mets vs. Yankees at Shea a couple of years ago and sat right behind home plate about 10 rows up. The usher, an old timer, came to check my ticket 2 or 3 times and I finally let him have it. I felt bad and went out to apologize to him and he told me that they had people watching them all the time telling them to check the tickets more than once. I thought the poor guy was going to wet his pants. These teams have forgotten who their fans are and it is time to let them know.
Fine, Levi—I don’t expect to convince you. I do know, however, that I run my healthy 180 million dollar man, who is a top 5 guy in the game–every time I can. The other guys wait. Wasn’t there discussion earlier this year about skipping Joba (#5 guy) a few times in order to keep his innings down? What happened to that brainstorm?
How can you skip a guy who is arguably your most consistent starter (Joba) so far, regardless of what you are paying him?
I’m not saying that shabby treatment isn’t an issue. It is a major one. The Yankee Stadium personnel have always been heavy handed. It becomes a major issue when the product you are running out there everyday isn’t worth $12.50 never mind $1,250. If they were 19-9 people would complain about 2 1/2 hours of not knowing if there was going to be a game or not but they wouldn’t think about never going back. Winning smooths over a lot of disenchantment and they aren’t doing enough of it.
I don’t like softball games. That’s what’s there right now. With $9 beer.
Are you saying that the design of the stadium is the reason the Yankees’ pitching has been so brutal?
Of course not. I haven’t looked at it, but I would make an educated guess that there is a huge difference in homers per game on the road versus home. How many home games have there been so far? 13? I bet the total homers for the first 13 are the most in the history of baseball.
Before tonight’s game they had let up 3 more HR at home in 15 fewer innings than on the road. They have also given up 9 more walks in those fewer innings than on the road.
So now it is 9 more HR in 6 fewer innings that there staff has given up at home vs the road.
“their” staff
They’ve hit 5 more HR in 2 fewer games than they have on the road.
I bet the Yankees have never had a guy who gave up 23 er in 6 innings before either.
wow just got to an internet connection, tuff way to lose. I speechless… hang in there fellas.
My ears were ringing like the liberty bell on Thursday night. Now I see why. Good weekend to all ..including my good buddy Jrz and his one sided post show reporting from the “other” site. Go Mets !
