THIS TEAM STINKS; Mets Shlong Phils

All Prayers for Mets4Ever’s uncle’s spirit, and for the whole Family.  May St. Peter Welcome Him Home!  Life is eternal!  Life is eternal!

Yanks loseMets win.

Im gonna learn to hit it out that way.

"I'm gonna learn to hit it out that way."

Yankees drop another and prove that this team on the field is NOT a playoff-caliber team.  That said, what’s wrong with Mariano Rivera?  I know what it is.  He’s getting old.  Like I said back in January, he’s at the point in his career the Yanks need a contingency plan.  This is the graph (forgive the weirdness):

David Wright is out of his slump and the Mets are rolling.  Obstruction, my ass!  What’s up with all the “fullbacking” going on this year?

  1. SUPER: I haven’t lifted anything. I said that i won’t post IF THE ORIOLES WIN. I always post when they lose to the Yanks..

    coltsoriolesbullet May 8, 2009 at 9:49 pm
  2. Delgado just crushed a ball over the 415 sign in right center. No currents involved with that one. Oh my.

  3. Lib-Someone did have Roberts.

  4. I JUST SAID KEV HIT IT, LEV.

  5. Dave Kingman, Darryl Strawberry, David Cone, and Dwight Gooden all played for The Yanks after they played for the Mets. That has to hurt KEV. Especially Kong.

  6. Shoe you should be posting regardless of the outcome.

    supernaut924 May 8, 2009 at 9:51 pm
  7. YEah Shoe. What kind of team player are you? You a prima donna or something, MAN?

  8. SUPER: I appreciate it, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable posting after The O’s beat The Yanks. I have the same policy about shaking hands. At Oriole Park and at Yankee Stadium, I only offer handshakes to Yankee fans if The Orioles lose. They might think it was disingenuous if I offered a handshake after The O’s win.

  9. Shoe surely you jest. BTW 3-1 Carolina over Boston in the NHL Eastern Conference semis. Go Canes!

    supernaut924 May 8, 2009 at 9:57 pm
  10. No need to yell Lib. I’M NOT DEAF. Five minutes before that you said no one had Roberts.

  11. I think they got Kingman a ring too Unshod.

  12. Joe has had that rule since he was still gandil408.I remember ganfredo.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 8, 2009 at 9:59 pm
  13. IMO CC’s performance trumps A Rod’s return, despite the fact that A Rod basically had the game winning hit. What says the floor?

  14. the ganfredo was a joke by the way joe.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 8, 2009 at 10:02 pm
  15. CC…That was a much needed performance.Did they mention anything on the Yankee broadcast about Big Al not being sure about back to back days at 1st?

    jrzinbatonrouge May 8, 2009 at 10:03 pm
  16. Bay goes deep again for the Sux.

Can’t get a much better game tonight than Det/Clev.
Granderson robbed Sizemore of a walk off HR in the bottom of the ninth and Verlander shuts out Indians 1-0.

  17. Supe- I have to agree. Al’s HR did get them off to a 3-0 lead but CC was very big tonight. Even with the help of a bad slide and questionable call, he was excellent. Saved the bullpen, stopped the slide. Well worth the dough today.

  18. Lev I missed the slide…I guess Jones was clearly safe on an attempted steal? Oh well…that’s baseball right? Some nights some calls go your way, other nights they don’t.

  19. Catch up with yas tomorrow.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 8, 2009 at 10:11 pm
  20. I’m out men. Stata buon. Good night & God Bless.

  21. Yeah J, they mentioned it. See ya tamarrah

  22. It was close Supe.He beat the throw by plenty but didnt get his lead foot down to touch the base.Cano tagged him high just as his back foot hit the bag.Real close, those are the plays I can tolerate them missing once in a while. Its the floating strikezone that drives me nuts.My rule is, if I have to look at it in slo mo from more than one angle, its ok for blue to muf(haha, muff) it.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 8, 2009 at 10:14 pm
  23. later.

    jrzinbatonrouge May 8, 2009 at 10:15 pm
  24. Oh I didn’t think it was a bad call J. If Jones gets the foot down he is safe. You’re right , if you have to look at it in slow mo 5 times from 3 angles the umpire can call it either way. The first replay I thought he was out. The second and third time, I thought he was safe. Bang bang with the front foot in the air and I think he got penalized for it.

  25. be good Supe

  26. The Red Sox started slow, but clubbed Tampa’s pitcher in the sixth inning.

    coltsoriolesbullet May 8, 2009 at 10:19 pm
  27. Lib- Coming at me before. Mexican too spicy tonight or what?

  28. Heilman went in for the Cubs, Cubs lost the lead. No surprise there!

  29. Supe, you a ‘Caniac??

  30. Niese pitched very well tonight. 6ip 2 r (1 run if Beltran had his night shades on) 0 BB 5 k

    Deserved the win.

  31. I am getting very close to pronouncing Putz the way everyone wants to pronounce it with this guy and his walks.

  32. THE METS are up, 7-3. HOLY SHIT! They are rolling. The Marlins have not done well at all since they stopped playing The Washington Generals… uh, I mean The Washington Nationals.

    coltsoriolesbullet May 8, 2009 at 10:25 pm
  33. OK Mets, hold this 4-run lead, so Francisco Rodriguez can have a night off. Preferably two nights in a row off, if you can do it against tomorrow.

    coltsoriolesbullet May 8, 2009 at 10:27 pm
  34. Just under 37,000 for tonight’s attendance. Thanks Yank fans! We needed that.

    coltsoriolesbullet May 8, 2009 at 10:28 pm
  35. I’m watching the Cubs-Brewers on “MLB Look In” (ooh) and I thought I was seeing Enrico Pollazzo behind the plate the way he punched a guy out. He did a little turn and looked to the sky.WTF? These umpires are getting out of hand. He was about 4’11″ on top of it.

  36. Ian Kennedy diagnosed with an aneurysm in his arm. I think it was Supe who called it referring to the numbness and David Cone. Good Luck to Kennedy.

  37. WWOR has a segment called Take on Russ.Who will be the first one to take him on? I say it will be Shoeless

  38. I can’t believe that Salzberg is the sports guy on UPN and Fox now. You gotta love Rupert Murdoch.

  39. I say we get a radio show together and put it on Sirus. That way you can call up and swear like a truck driver without getting bleeped.

  40. that’s one in a row! Thanks for the update’s bbt.

  41. nah BR2 I’m a NY Rangers fan…I just root against any team from Boston.

  42. Wha ya don, sportsfans.
