BTW- There is no cavalry coming from SWB. Not Stewart, not Duncan, not Duncan, not Jackson. Scranton isn’t going to solve this team’s problems. The answers are within.
Hey fella’s
couldn’t agree more Lev. It is what it is. Time to concentrate on this group playing as a team. Most Yankee fans were happy with the FA winter Cashman had. Lets have Al get a few weeks under his belt, maybe they get Posada back, and the pitching becomes more consistent and let’s ride it out, Let’s see how Cash did.
This season will be a good barometer on what to do next. Maybe the parts are all here, maybe not. If they falter it’s time to break it down. They’ll still need to keep some of the untouchable contracts, but let’s not compound the problem with more of them.
If this group fails The Steiny’s need to hand the team over to real baseball men and keep the suits and themselves far away from the drawing board. Make this a baseball team first not a business, lower prices and start to rebuild with youth, they’re rich enough to absorb it, plus I’d love to see the rest of the league squirm without the Steiny tax money.
It took the Knicks a bunch of years before they finally got it. I don’t care how many brand names you put on paper if it doesn’t translate to W’s the seats will stay empty.
have a good one fella’s thanks for the up-dates, the bbt is like an oasis in the desert. Homesick Sal
"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at-bats a season. That means I played 7 years without ever hitting the ball." - Mickey Mantle
It’s time for the Yanks to stop looking to SWB every 5 minutes and start looking inward.
Joba has to come out tomorrow, throw strikes and work quickly. Did I mention he has to THROW STRIKES?
