ARod: "Hello Left Field! It's Been A Long Time."; Wright Does No Wrong

Yanks winMets win.

Alex Rodriguez might become the one guy you never want to pitch to in Yankee Stadium.  That said, Mark Teixeira owes him a monthly steak dinner.  Tex is batting .333 (10-for-30) with 3 HRs and 9 RBIs since ARod came back on May 8th.  T&A!!!  Copyright that!  Joba Chamberlain left the game winning.  A-gain.

David Wright is the best hitter in the league right now.  His May numbers.  Although, methinks he’s sending the wrong message to Francessna and Farmer Jerry.  You don’t want them taking the credit for lighting a fire, when in fact, they are just trying to look good by playing the odds.  Wright was, is, and will be the Mets best hitter.  If he’s .230 in April, he’ll be .400 in May.

It’s pretty impressive that Ian Kinsler doesn’t even flinch.

Comments

  1. Lib- Wright didn’t hit for a month. it was a matter of time before he started hitting. Francessa has been on him since October. Omar made his “edge” comment a month into the slump, if hitting .280 can be called slumping. Wright is just reverting to form and the big mouths shouldn’t be given credit for anything.

  2. Speaking of Kinsler, the Rangers are 3 1/2 games in front of the Angels-watch out for the Texas Rangers!!
They are actually getting decent pitching and lead the majors in homers.
David Wright is just killing the ball and the Giants, driving in 3 runs/game.How can anyone not like him?

  3. It’s sad that the state of MLB is that Lackey had to be thrown out but it is about time the “first mover” got punished instead of the retaliating party. You can’t throw behind a guy and then hit him with the next pitch.

  4. Hey DB- one of your comments was in the print edition yesterday.

  5. I know Lev. Being ironic. Getting on Wright for not being right is like getting on the sun for not shining at 4 in the morning.

Watch out for those Rangers! No Vlad, No Power!!!

  6. I still bet on the Angels with Vlad back soon and their starters coming back one-by-one. Texas has hit for the last 20 years. I’ll believe in their pitching when they are throwing in October.

  7. Hopin the big pinstriped machine is getting up to cruisin speed, looking for AJ to keep it going with a quality start.Although lately it seems the Twinkies can’t buy a win in NY.

  8. I hear that. Lackey has another four days of doing nothing. After that, he comes back to be John Lackey.

  9. Gotta get to work. Enjoy the day, fellas.

  10. lev, which comment was in the paper?

  11. THE ORIOLES AND THEIR PITCHING LAST NIGHT!

DAVID HERNANDEZ went 5 1/3 shutout innings for the win for AAA- Norfolk, allowing 2 hits and 4 walks. He struck out 6.

JAKE ARRIETA pitched a one-hit, complete game shutout for AA-Bowie, with 3 walks and 10 strikeouts.
ZACH BRITTON threw 6 shutout innings for Advanced-A Frederick, allowing 4 hits and striking out 6.

So 18+ innings from our starting pitchers last night at the top 3 minor-league affiliates. No runs allowed, only 14 base-runners, and 22 strikeouts.

And of course RICH HILL’S excellent performance in his first game of the year, PLUS The Orioles’ bullpen pitching 3 1/3 shutout innings to nail down the 3-2 win over The Royals.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, ” The U.S. vs. John Lennon ” is a must view.

For those familiar with the times, it’s an insightful look back. For those not old enough, it’s a great history lesson. And for N.Y.ers, a warm rememberance.

I got it at the library. Here’s to you, John.

  41. The Pastor’s Ass

The pastor entered his donkey in a race and it won.

The pastor was so pleased with the donkey

that he entered it in the race
    again, and it won again.

    The local paper read:

    PASTOR’S ASS OUT FRONT.

The Bishop was so upset with this kind of
    publicity that he ordered the
pastor not to enter the donkey in another race.

The next day, the local paper headline read:

    BISHOP SCRATCHES PASTOR’S ASS.

This was too much for the bishop, so he
ordered the pastor to get rid
    of the donkey.

The pastor decided to give it to a nun in a
    nearby convent.

The local paper, hearing of the news, posted
the following headline the next day:

NUN HAS BEST ASS IN TOWN.

    The bishop fainted.

He informed the nun that she would have to
get rid of the donkey, so she

sold it to a farmer for $10.

The next day the paper read:

    NUN SELLS ASS FOR $10.

This was too much for the bishop, so he
ordered the nun to buy back the
donkey and lead it to the plains where it could run wild.

The next day the headlines read:

NUN ANNOUNCES HER ASS IS WILD AND FREE.

The bishop was buried the next day.

The moral of the story is . . . being
    concerned about public opinion
can bring you much grief and misery .. .
    even shorten your life.

So be yourself and enjoy life.

Stop worrying about everyone else’s ass and
you’ll be a lot happier and
    live longer!

    Have a nice day!
