Yanks win, Mets win.

Yanks have the best record in the league in 1-run ballgames at 8-2 (runner-up is LAD at 9-3; no one else is even close).  I don’t go back far, but I have never seen a Yankee team walk off this many games.  I’m glad I left the NYDN pages leaving everybody thinking I was Melky’s biggest fan (actually, I led the lynch mob to Melky’s locker last year, but that’s besides the point). Can’t say enough about what Alex Rodriguez is bringing to this team right now.  For those that watch closely these last few years, he even looks like a different person, as if he’s trying to ignore the camera – surely a monumental feat for His Alex-ness.  No, I don’t care that he’s batting .200.

Tampa is a chosen destination these days.

I humbly bestow upon the Mets the title of “Honorary Yankees”.  Kind of like Jrz said (incidentally, he’s our second winner EVAH of the 2-for-3 and doesn’t seem to stop winning):

Pegging KY and tattooing Papelpout while watching those New England babies lose their collective composure not being able to scratch out a series win versus the 86ers:  PRICELESS.  Go to the “Mets win” link above, click on the “Wright Saves the Day” video link to see Castillo weather a nasty Youkilis slide for the out and Jon Papelbon lose his mind.  Hard to understate what it could mean psychologically to the Red Sox and their fans to drop a series to the Mets as the bruises are just starting to soften from Manny’s dethroning.  The Boston toilet may have just been flushed.

  33. Wieters isn’t ready yet. He needs another month in AAA. Wieters is only hitting .288 at AAA-Norfol after hitting .365 at Advanced-A fredercik and AA-Bowie last season.

    Zaun started the season at .120, and now he’s hitting .220. Zaun also has hit a alot of hard balls that outfielders have caught deep. Zaun is also excellent behind the plate. Wieters will be up after The All-Star break.

  41. No, they sent him to AAA because he had less than a year of pro ball. It was a good move, as he is doing pretty good, but not tearing up the league. Nolan Reimold is up, and here to stay.

  48. They just overreacted by bringing him off the DL on Firday. Wang should have stayed with SWB for a couple of more starts. Now what do they do with him?
    Spirit, nothing like that place. The line is crazy but it is worth it. One Three Dog Night and I am full for a week. Pinks and Nozawa are musts when in LA.
