Yanks win. Mets win.
Alex Rodriguez might become the one guy you never want to pitch to in Yankee Stadium. That said, Mark Teixeira owes him a monthly steak dinner. Tex is batting .333 (10-for-30) with 3 HRs and 9 RBIs since ARod came back on May 8th. T&A!!! Copyright that! Joba Chamberlain left the game winning. A-gain.
David Wright is the best hitter in the league right now. His May numbers. Although, methinks he’s sending the wrong message to Francessna and Farmer Jerry. You don’t want them taking the credit for lighting a fire, when in fact, they are just trying to look good by playing the odds. Wright was, is, and will be the Mets best hitter. If he’s .230 in April,… (more…)

Yanks Even Out; Mets Steal-y in San Fran
All Prayers and Sympathies go out to NativeNYer’s family for their loss.
Yanks win. Mets win.
CC Sabathia, Hideki Matsui, and Derek Jeter are all healthy, so there is no way this team should be hovering at .500. Yanks come home to face the Twins and let’s hope those fly balls ARod was lofting out to right field in the Rogers Center catch the Jet Stream in the Stadium.
David Wright steals four bases and goes three-for-three on the day Jose Reyes sits out with a sore calf. Carlos Beltran only gets called out standing up. Mets face Tim Lincecum tonight.

Pictures of Citi Field
Citi Field in the day. Couldn't even fit it in the frame, it's so big.
Interior of the Robinson Rotunda. Note the exposed ironwork, which gained high marks in Blue Collar focus groups.

Mets Lose. Mets Really Lost That Game.
Pictures of Citi Field will go up tonight. Nice park, big. VERY big.
Johan Santana could have gone another inning. Back to the donuts. Peace, all.
Joba Wins Huff Fisticuff; Mets Break Out the Broom
Yanks (15-16) win. Mets (17-13) win.
Aubrey Huff fists in the first, but Joba Chamberlain gets the final fist. Frecking frack frickle-ty boo, Yanks take two. Joba gets the W on Mother’s Day. Just another chapter.
Robbie Cano is getting that smooth swing back.
Chien-Ming Wang will start in SWB Tuesday. Fingers = crossed.
Xavier Nady is hitting off a tee. Nick Swisher leads the team in slugging, while Johnny Damon appears to be the best hitter on the team. What to do, what to do, what to do.
Bill Madden uses the term “The Moat” and says it was “coined.” But I don’t see no coin from that phrase, first heard here on BBT. That hurts, Bill Madden, that hurts. MORE Loosey, MORE Goosey.

CC and Big Al, That's Baseball; Delgado Cleans Out the Pirates; KEV86 Wins the 2-for-3
Yanks (14-15) win. Mets (15-13) win. Kev wins.
CC Sabathia busted out his “A” game while Alex Rodriguez shared his feelings on the first pitch. This is the game that CC can pitch and that’s what ARod does for a lineup. Talk about horses. It’s nice to see that ARod’s presence seems to back everyone back down to a more fitting spot in the lineup. Robbie Cano, struggling of late, batted seventh and collected two hits. Tonight, it’s Phil Hughes versus Adam Eaton.

Yankees drop another and prove that this team on the field is NOT a playoff-caliber team. That said, what’s wrong with Mariano Rivera? I know what it is. He’s getting old. Like I said back in January, he’s at the point in his career the Yanks need a contingency plan. This is the graph (forgive the weirdness):

Yanks Lose Again; Santana is All Aces
Yanks lose. Mets win.
You can’t win this game without a lineup, and the Yanks just don’t have one. Nick Swisher is all about lighting fires. The Yanks should have a designated ejection, seems to be the only thing keeping them in the ballgame.
Once more, baseball is a game you can’t predict. Carlos Delgado scored the lone run by hustling home on a throwing error by Pedro Feliz and a triple-pump on the throw home by backing-up RFer Jayson Werth. Like Shoe said, STUNNED. It’s a “w”, so it doesn’t matter how it happens.
Jason Bay Puts Down Payment on New Home in Alpine, NJ; Mets Beat Braves

Yanks lose. Mets win.
0-5 versus the Sox. Brilliant. Joba Chamberlain, despite giving up four runs in the first inning, was not only entertaining and kept his team in the game but also struck out a career-high 12 batters. At 108 pitches, he was yanked. At that point, he was pumping hot lead into the strikezone and the Sox weren’t touching him. The Yankee lineup did not scrape together runs. 3-4-5-6 was 2-for-15. Sox have us scouted inside and out, we’ve been made three times over in this decade and have barely responded. Bring back A-Rod, do it now! Tonight it’s the Rays – Sonnastine vs. Burnett, and hopefully, if A.J. is dealing in the sixth inning, Joe Girardi leaves him out there to deal.… (more…)
