Watching the Yankees is like watching an IV bag drip. Watching the Yankees is like reading a flowchart for manufacturing flowcharts. Watching the Yankees is like folding underwear for six hours straight. Watching the Yankees is a John Tesh sing-a-long on infinite repeat. Watching the Yankees is like cracking open a box of Kleenex and stirring it into your oatmeal. Watching the Yankees is like drinking flat 7-Up. Watching the Yankees is like owning a ’84 Chrysler Aries K as your weekend fun car. Watching the Yankees is like decorating the rec room with fiberglass insulation. Watching the Yankees is a slow, useless death like Frankie Five Angels in the tub. Watching the Yankees is like waiting for the ownership group to pull the trigger on a shakeup but a shakeup never happens.
Tonight, it’s Joba vs. Kawakami.
More from JRZ later.
For you conspiracy theorists, you should be happy to know that the yellow cabs aren’t alone in plotting against the Mets; the NYFD is in on it as well. That said, Mets got shut down by Joel “Pins and Needles” Piniero, spoiling a strong Livan Hernandez start by two-hitting the lineup-shuffling Mets at home.
Painful!!

Kev- If they don’t have any K’s tomorrow against Carpenter, I’ll be impressed.
tee hee
BTW- The Astros couldn’t have used Nieve this year? Once around baseball at least?
BTW-Swisher had a closed door with Girardi and Cashman today with Nady coming back and he hits a big HR. Interesting.
I like when Swisher has to fight his way into the lineup instead of being automatic. This year has performed well in that role, either in spot starts or pinch hitting. Getting a healthy Nady back is a big boost to the bench.
Agreed. Swisher is better off the bench and playing here or there than he is playing every game. He doesn’t take his Ritalin often enough to be in the lineup every game.
Ha! Ritalin! I think he has graduated to Adderall. I just hope Nady can still throw.
Just heard Maglio Ordonez cut his hair, anybody want to read something into that?
Cut his hair? Is Torre managing in Detroit now? Funny how that rule went out the window when Manny showed up.
They just showed the replay on YES of Mo getting ready to hit. I’ve never seen Mo with the nervous look he had on his face.
I have no interest in Magglio playing here.
Mo got pretty good wood on that pitch. Is there anything he can’t do. I hear he is walking to Citi this weekend on water across the bay.
THAT, I would pay to see.
First he is going to resolve the crisis in Iran, solve global warming, fix the economy, and then he will cross the bay. Good night fellas. Mo’s blessings be upon you. Mariano Akbar!
