Cashman Cracks Whip, Horses Lurch; Wright, Church Lead Met Triumph

Yanks winMets win.

Brian Cashman – as first reported by JRZ – made a visit to the Yanks in Atlanta and most likely did his best George Steinbrenner imitation.  This could not have been easy for the small, polite, and bookish Brian – 9 innings later, the Yanks showed new life.  Hey, it’s fun to win and they should make it a habit.

David Wright batted third and Ryan Church batted cleanup and the Mets scored eleven runs.  Stranger things have happened.

A little short on time this morning fellas, make sure you hit Uncle Sal’s for the take.

  2. like it or not, as A Rod goes so does the Yanks’ offense.

  3. Looks like Nady was pulled in the 5th tonight. Not sure what that’s about but can’t be good.

  4. that is not good news at all mac.

  5. That’s it, Supe. Hate to say it. It’s how it is though.

I’ll keep an eye out for Nady, Mac. At this point, is he really that necessary?

  6. right on LB…love him or hate him, he makes this lineup tick.

  7. Man Brian McCann would hit like 50 HRs a year playing for the Yanks…sweet left handed power stroke.

  8. Rage against the dying of the light, Atlanta. Just don’t do it versus the Yanks.

They’ll have to bring in Mo again, won’t they.

  9. I would like to see Nady back if only to move Swish back to the super-sub role he excelled in at the beginning of the year.

  10. looks that way LB…un freakin believable. Who would thought…going into tonight’s action Staten Island’s own Jason Marquis would be in a 3 way tie w/ Matt Cain & Chad Billingsly for most wins in the NL w/ 9?

  11. I was kinda getting used to the good/bad/ugly thing that Swisher brings to the “proverbial” table each day. Teams do thrive, however, on constant change…if it’s the good kind!

Hey Supe, you get the gear I sent?

I’m trying to pay each of you good guys back somehow for the patronage. And occasionally, the patronizing.

    Mac, sent you an em!

  12. where…on FB?

  13. Good, Bad, and Ugly. That’s funny and appropriate. I hit you back, Lib.

  14. Yanks used nice chunk of pen. If CC cant last tomorrow for a multiple of reasons, Mets have a shot.

LETS GO METS! Miracle Mets of 09!

    Goodnight

  15. Looking forward to the series against the “Mess”. Who is hitting cleanup?Tatis or Sheff?

  16. hey if any of you guys have direct tv there’s a good movie on the 101 called enron the smartest guys in the room

  17. Hughes is 1.69 in 10.2 comin out of the pen, Aceves is at 2.16 after 2.1 scoreless tonight, Coke is at 3.34 after 2 scoreless tonight, Robertson is at 2.76, Swisher remains at 0.00, and Bruney is back. Bullpen looks like it’s shaping up OK. But I don’t give a crap how many times they score 10+ runs in a game. An outfield rotation of Damon, Swisher, Melky, and Gardner is not very strong … offensively OR defensively.

  18. That’s. Great flick, Sup. Highly recommend.

  19. Unbelievable how Marte signs a 3 year contract and turns into Carl Pavano (read that in a DN blog today)

  20. Kev, Mets are seeing them at a good time. Hope not though. BTW, congratulations to you and yours.

  21. mac skilling should rot in a cell for the rest of his wretched days left on this earth.

  22. Yeah Supe, FB. What a way to waste time in life.

    What’s up Nat.

Watching Nacho Libre right now. Shows you where my mentality is at, right this moment.

  23. Lib, you’re up late tonight. Wife out of town?

  24. Feinsand had some gloomy words today on Nady’s prospects for a productive return.

  25. Supe, a cell would be too good for him. He needs to be in that spider hole Saddam was found in. Here is to hoping Jackson’s death doesn’t take away from what is happening in Iran. Good night BBT brothers. Fun weekend ahead!

  26. ok, who’s skilling?

  27. Later, Mac!

No, wife’s on the couch. Just got in late and I’m still amped up. I’ll explain some day!!!! Remind me to explain!!! I’m actually a superhero myself hahaha.

You know, I’ve been hinting here that Nady ain’t coming back…don’t know if anyone has picked up on it. I thought that whole Cashman/Swisher/Girardi meeting was either to THAT effect or something similar.

You see McLouth have a great night while Cashman was in town? What was that about?

  28. I see where you’re going … wonder what kind of arms the Braves would be looking for in exchange for McLouth. He’s signed for multi years, isn’t he?

  29. 3 years, yeah. 2012 he has a club opt.

Lot of guys that have ML innings on the Yankee farm. I don’t think it’ll take much.

  30. Nat, I’m beat, like you say WAY passed my bedtime. how you doing otherwise? Good I hope.

  31. Hanging in, pieces fitting together slowly but surely. Have a good one.
