Congrats to Mariano Rivera, one of the best all time – a competitive and noble sportsman who just reached save # 500.
That said, I’ll take a sweep, a healthy Wang, and a strong pair of Aces as the Yanks move within three games of the Sox. Would have loved to go .500 against the Sox – that would put the Yanks in a dead heat entering July instead of wheelsucking through the turns. As opposed to previous seasons, it has so far been a great pleasure to watch the Yankees play infield and that has EVERYTHING to do with Mark Teixeira. Brian Bruney is starting to resemble a sixth Village Person. No one wants to pitch to ARod anymore. Yanks don’t really have an alternative to batting Robbie Cano fifth.
Lots of goodies tossed out by the Mets pinata, lots of great plays along with, but a whole lot more goodies. Dan Murphy led off. Whatever’s left of Jerry Manuel’s brains must be depleted by now, judging from that feat of rostering (and his manifold 5-pitch intentional walks). Watching Jerry Manuel manage is like watching Mexican soap opera without subtitles: you try anxiously to follow the twisted plot unfold without an inkling as to where it will take anyone or why anything is happening. After an hour a big red question mark appears above your head and you just have to change the channel at that point. Taco Time is SO appropriate. Livan Hernandez usually improves as the season progresses, so the sky is the limit for El Caballo. Jose Reyes needs to come back RIGHT NOW!

Joe, your boys are killing me.

helluva a play by the guy who in 3 years will be the best CF in baseball.
ADAAAAAAM JOOOOOOOOOOOOOONES!!!!
You see that catch, JRZ ???
I had a first today…
When Jason Berken had Ellsbury at an 0-2 count, he hit him with a pitch. Usually, I would be pissed. But I was just glad that he threw a really hard pitch and hit him in the ribs, eventhough it wound up costing us a few runs. That was the first time that I was ever glad that my pitcher hit someone with a pitch.
BLACK Red Sox fans are about as common as BLACK Celtics fans, and BLACK Bruins fans…….. There aren’t any.
I saw Joe, but your boys are STILL killing me!
Horrible swing by Huff. Time for the 2009 AL Rookie-Of-The Year to hit a two-run homer.
Thx for the drop on Cosatnzo shoejoe…looks like he’s struggling but he also sounds like a character guy asking to be sent down so he can play more. Hope things work out for him. Your Birds are a year or two away from reemerging as a serious palyer in the AL East. BTW who started the game for the Mets tonight?
Nieve started. They are getting stopped by a former teammate: Looper.
Thx…I turned the game on in the 5th & saw the score was only 3-0.
Let’s keep things in perspective,

good one spirit
I’d post that one if it was an original, louie. I only post original work.
Mets need one good bat, or one good arm. They really aren’t that far from a run at Philly.
J, ***pooof***.
fucking princess. you kidding me?
Thanks Bro.
Swear to God.I could make that up?
Did you mention BBT?
I called her sunshine to get a drink and she said, “My name is Princess” and showed me the name tag.
FINAL SCORE;
CUNTS 4
ORIOLES 0
You have a cold, hard tale to tell today, don’t you?
No but I will. The sweep broke the ice.I asked where she was from because of the accent and she said Long Island. So I said, “Did you see any baseball you enjoyed this weekend” and she said “yea, and my Yankees better keep winnin”…..from there it was easy.
Plopplebottom gets the save…that guy is all coke.
Mets getting a proctological exam from Cassius Clay here.
I told her I was from Jersey and she said,”Not Hoboken, please tell me not Hoboken”.
jrz you met a chick from LI in Florida?
Yep, Supe. She has been here a while but for some reason, she cant shake the accent.
D-RAYS 4 BLUE JAYS 1
The Devil Rays are the first team in the history of the major leagues to have 100 HR’s and 100 SB’s this fast. READ IT AGAIN, it sounds vaguely important.
The Devil Rays are the first team in the history of the major leagues to have 100 HR’s and 100 SB’s this fast.
Their record is now 43-35 after tonight’s win.
You can take the girl out of LI…she jewish, Hendry?
I saw that stat this morning in the real paper, Joe. Not the “real” paper, just the sorry print edition I can get down here.
TB isn’t getting worse, that’s for sure.
I think that The Red Sox will lose to The Devil Rays in the ALCS again in October. I don’t know who is going to come out of The National League.
NL champ will come out of the east again.
Jewish? funny you ask, she was telling me that she was Catholic and some cat asked her if she was “still Catholic” Next time she walked past me I said, with a real shitty tone, “Are you still Catholic?” she turned and (mouthed) “smartass” and that was that
alright, later fellas.
CARL CRAWFORD steals home plate off of Jonathan Papelbohn and Jason Varitek to win Game Six, and send Tampa Bay back to The World Series again!
But I get the “Hendry” remark….only the good half
Later, Lib.
This is the music in the ears of THE RED SOX, listening to The devil Rays crawling up their asses.
tough one to shake jrz.
I think she is special
That was tongue planted FIRMLY in cheek, BTW
LOL I was just about to wish you lots of luck w/ her!
the “cant shake the accent” remark AND the “special” remark
all TIC comments?
Those 2 at least but not “all”…I was hoping you guys knew me well enough to detect sarcasm but I guess you dont always get exactly the sense.I am having a tough time finding the words. If we spent a day bullshitting face to face we would be on the same page.Something gets lost between the mind and the screen.Just like you and Kev this afternoon…ALL of us really need to sit down and have a drink 1 day, I dont think the laughter would stop.
Supe, dont misunderstand, I aint saying you dont get it, just that we dont hear each others tone on here, you know what I mean?
Lou, thanks for gettin me to tap my foot.
What’s up, guys? Jackson hit his second HR in. They said that when he found his power that the HR’s would come in bunches. Looks like he might be on his way.
Mac, I still want him to finish the season at SWB.The Yankees have at least 2 spots in the OF for next year.I would like to see Cashman make a move for a veteran OF in his late 20s/early 30s this season.Damon and Matsui are gone after this season and I still contend that bringing Jackson up now will make him take a step back.
