Yanks Tie Sox in a Knot; Mets Drop Two of Three to Dredded Dodgers

Yanks winMets lose.

With the bludgeoning at the hand of the A’s last night, Boston has been cornered while Yankees fly out to California having won nine of their last ten.  Mark Melancon will be with the team versus Anaheim, and I couldn’t think of a better time to get him in the mix.  Yanks are short arms, there is just one more series before the break, and Melancon is on a hot streak versus a team that is down Vlad Guerrero (again).  As a note, Bobby Abreu is batting .304 and has 18 SB’s.  Yanks will send Chamberlain, Pettitte, and Sabathia against Saunders, Weaver, and Lackey.  Tonight’s is the only late start, Saturday and Sunday are afternoon games.

Eesh…I don’t know which is worse, watching a NY team hit the skids as hard as the Mets have – or watching their fans slowly descend into cannabalism.  The latest slap in the face is Fernando Martinez to the DL with knee inflammation.  Taken in stride, a split is not half-bad versus the mighty Dodgers, who happen to have the best record in baseball.  The Reds chug-a-lugga into town, and none too soon – David Wright and Co. can use a series vs. a better-matched opponent.  Take two of three, and enjoy the All Star game.  Mets send Nieves, Santana, and El Girafe vs. Arroyo, Cueto, and Harang for two night games and a Sunday matinee.

Yeah, but what happens on the NEXT pitch?

When the HGH doesn’t flow, I suppose the next best thing is using the brain.

Around the world, Lance Armstrong might just take another Tour de France while Michael Phelps set another record – not just talking about cannibular density in bong hits! here!

  1. So, why exactly did the Mets acquire Francouer? What did Church ever do to Jerry, give him pink eye?

  2. Yje banks down here in Fl. are lookin for at least 30% down, regardless of credit score.

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 10:52 pm
  3. The banks…..sorry

  4. will be buying on SI. her italian old lady has issues with driving and her italian grandmother is pushen 86. I’ll probably be on SI until I win the lotto.

  5. I aint gonna see the end a this game. What time they start tomorrow.

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 10:57 pm
  6. 30%? That’s large bro. Fla is one of the states were values have declined big big time. Joba lookin a bit shaky right now. A question for the forum: would you include Joba in a package to Toronto for Halladay?

  7. im not gonna make it. just maken sure chubby is still mediocre.

  8. Nevermind, my guide says its the Fox game tomorrow, 4:00 start.

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:00 pm
  9. id give up anything for halladay. he has dominance left in the tank and enough to make it last through 2012.

  10. Supe, regardless of 30% or whatever, I am gonna make a move before Jan. 31st and you and I are gonna talk.If you got the best deal, we certainly do business.

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:02 pm
  11. kev obviously you know you can buy w/ less than 20% down…you’ll just need to pay the private mortgage insurance.

  12. You know what the private insurance rate is in Fla?

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:03 pm
  13. anytime partner, ready when you are…that goes for everybody. As long as you qualify based on income, credit & assets, you should be good to go.

  14. yeah supe. thanks. we are going to save up the 20%. 2 bedroom apartment is good enough for now. this place wanted an extra 500 per month to pay month to month with lease ending so we told them to fuck off and moving to SI early.

  15. Moving sucks. I feel for you, Kev. The Mets are terrible and you are moving. That’s a rough summer.

  16. And the new job I have blows.

This half full attitude shit is a farce.

  17. depends on the loan amount & your down payment jrz. The less down & the more you borrow, the higher the PMI. Obviously your best bet is to put as close to 20% down, or @ least 20% to avoid the PMI altogether. And in Fla the MI companies have even more restrictions because they’ve basically designated the entire state as a distressed market.

  18. where you at on SI supe? i’ll be asking you for food advice soon.

  19. when do the G-Men report to camp? Nooger said he is going to provide me/us with some updates when the time comes.

  20. Ya know things are bad in Flushing when Kev is checking the calendar for Giants camp.

  21. Problem, as I see it w/ SI Kev is it’s overcrowded. Honestly I try (as much as possible) to not drive on the weekends, that’s how bad it is IMO. And as you know the house prices out here are pretty exorbitant. I would have moved to NJ (since I work in NJ) but my wife wanted to stay close to her parents so here we stayed.

  22. How’s the habit-kicking, Mac?

    Yes, I do that deal.

  23. Not good Mac. Im reduced to Philly choke dreams. Sad part it is, it might be Marlins that take advantage.

Got a text I got the 5 pick in a fantasy football draft. Least I can start browsing early.

Im thankful Im a Giants fan.

  24. I’m in Arden Heights, about a 10 min drive from New Springville.

  25. Thanks for asking, Lib. One week in and not one cigarette. This e-cig is a miracle cure. I don’t know why they aren’t sold in every 7-11 and Wawa around. Has to do with the tobacco companies lobbying like mad but I haven’t had a real craving for a cigarette since I got this thing. It is unreal.

  26. Supe, is my best move to find somebody making a short sale? Not just because of the low price, are there other reasons I benefit from that? Nevermind, I will be sending pics tomorrow and will have LB send my em with them.We will be on the phone befoer the end of the month.I aint gonna miss out on the 8Gs they are giving in 09.

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:20 pm
  27. Yeah Supe. My lady is flying back to the nest. Im down with it and already aware of some of the SI pitfalls. Could be A LOT worse so Im not complaining. Looking forward to it actually.

I expect some altercations on the roadways.

  28. What is that e-cig?

Ransom had an awesome swing at a third strike. Wasn’t close, but awesome.

  29. Wgere did you get the e cig, Mac?

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:22 pm
  30. Abreu at the wall? Some nerve.

I just lit wrong end of a smoke. Bad sign. Might have to cash in my chips.

  31. and what did it cost?

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:22 pm
  32. GDY is out cold

  33. There is a lot of baseball left, Kev. You get Beltran back soon. Maybe by some miracle the Francouer move turns out to be a godsend and Ollie starts giving you something. Maybe this year you guys turn the collapse on the Phils for a change.

  34. Mac, I know you exhale with that thing. Can you use it indoors? What does the smoke smell/taste like?

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:25 pm
  35. An e-cig is an electronic cigarette. It has a battery, an atomizer, and a cartridge that contains a fluid that turns into a vapor when you inhale. The vapor contains nicotine and the flavor of your cigarette of choice. But, no burning so no carcinogens. It feels like you are smoking but you aren’t doing damage to your lungs. Here is a list of suppliers. I highly recommend if you are trying to quit:

  36. Jeets now hitting .320, with a 3 for 3 night so far. Not bad for an old SS.

  37. Jeter might have a batting title left in him, Nat.

So, you are weaned off the nicotine slowly, right? You keep whittling down your dosage then?

  38. J, you can use it anywhere because it doesn’t burn. I was in a restaurant the other day and took a few puffs. The waiter came over and said you can’t smoke in here but when I showed him what it was he was cool. It gives you the throat hit you are used to with a cigarette. I ordered a bunch of different liquids and actually found a Dunhill flavor which is my brand and it is pretty damn close. Enough that I don’t crave a real cig. It works. I have been telling everyone I know who smokes. It is a game changer.

  39. why did that dude just bunt? nice play by cano.

  40. Yeah, Lib, they come in different mg liquids so you start high and work your way down. The thing is I love smoking. I love the feel of it and the ritual nature of it and thi is the only thing I have found that replicates it without doing damage to my lungs. I tried the lozenges and patches. None of them worked, this does.

  41. Vapertron can be BBT’s shamwow.

  42. I am in Mac.You ordered yours online from that site? What is the particular name? They have about 100 on the link you posted. What did it cost to start and what do the carts. cost and how long do they last for you.and how many packs a day were you smoking when you made the move?……………sorry to be such a pain in the ass but if this can get me to quit I will do anything.

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:36 pm
  43. BIG ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:37 pm
  44. atta boy a rod!!

  45. You guys see that back knee drop like a piston firing when he hit that ball

    jrzinbatonrouge July 10, 2009 at 11:38 pm
  46. I actually got mine from cigtechs.com because they had the one I wanted in stock, the Joye 510. It cost $75 for two batteries, two atomizers, a charger, and 5 cartridges of Marlboro flavored liquid. I bought 10 cartridges for $6 so I could try the different flavors. A bottle of juice costs about a $10 and will last you a month. The cartridges last about a week. So, no matter which way you look at it you save and you get off of tobacco.

  47. he juiced that ball out

  48. Oh, and I used to smoke close to a pack a day of Dunhills, which is a strong cigarette. Alex loves playing in Anaheim, doesn’t he.

  49. Violent swing that ARod has. I was expecting an off night from these guys.

Thing I miss about smoking was how it made me look like Al Pacino.

  50. Thanks Mac.
