Yanks Tie Sox in a Knot; Mets Drop Two of Three to Dredded Dodgers

Yanks winMets lose.

With the bludgeoning at the hand of the A’s last night, Boston has been cornered while Yankees fly out to California having won nine of their last ten.  Mark Melancon will be with the team versus Anaheim, and I couldn’t think of a better time to get him in the mix.  Yanks are short arms, there is just one more series before the break, and Melancon is on a hot streak versus a team that is down Vlad Guerrero (again).  As a note, Bobby Abreu is batting .304 and has 18 SB’s.  Yanks will send Chamberlain, Pettitte, and Sabathia against Saunders, Weaver, and Lackey.  Tonight’s is the only late start, Saturday and Sunday are afternoon games.

Eesh…I don’t know which is worse, watching a NY team hit the skids as hard as the Mets have – or watching their fans slowly descend into cannabalism.  The latest slap in the face is Fernando Martinez to the DL with knee inflammation.  Taken in stride, a split is not half-bad versus the mighty Dodgers, who happen to have the best record in baseball.  The Reds chug-a-lugga into town, and none too soon – David Wright and Co. can use a series vs. a better-matched opponent.  Take two of three, and enjoy the All Star game.  Mets send Nieves, Santana, and El Girafe vs. Arroyo, Cueto, and Harang for two night games and a Sunday matinee.

Yeah, but what happens on the NEXT pitch?

When the HGH doesn’t flow, I suppose the next best thing is using the brain.

Around the world, Lance Armstrong might just take another Tour de France while Michael Phelps set another record – not just talking about cannibular density in bong hits! here!

  1. mac – can you shoot that shit into your veins with a needle?

  2. And not Alpa-Chino:

  3. Well, nicotine is more addictive than any of the other stuff you can pump into your body thru a needle. It is my one real vice and you know how we all need our vices.

  4. LB might not see all, but he knows whats up.

  5. Kev obviously aint caught up or he wouldnt make jokes. This shit is disgusting and killing me and I have been addicted for 20+ years. It makes me sick and is literally killing me.

  9. I hear ya, J. I started when I was 18 and I am 37 now. I tried all different things and some would take for a period of time but it was always painful. With this thing, it isn’t painful. It takes a little adjustment but once you are thru the adjustment it is fine.

  10. My old man told me he quit soon after he had my oldest bro. Im hoping it works.

  11. Theres the Joba I know.

  12. Mac, My old man quit at 55 after 40 years.I quit about 3 years later for a month.I asked him, “when do I stop wanting a cigarette?”….he said “NEVER, I want one right now”….At that point I said fuck it!I aint gonna put myself through that and kept burning. Now he dont remember sayin that, and gives me shit on a daily.I swear, I would give anything.

  14. Just when I thought it was safe to go to bed. jrz short sales (for guys in the mtg biz such as yours truly) are a pain in the ass because the bank selling the home wants to sign contract today & close next week…they put lots of pressure on the buyer & the buyer’s lender to close ASAP. Boys, WTF happened to the Joba of 07, that brash intimidating kid that came out of the pen & threw 2 devastating pitches. Anyone seem him lately??

  15. I was young when my son was born. 24 years old. You still think you are immortal at that age. But, my daughter is relentless. She was on my case 24/7. They give you motivation, no doubt.
I am not against sending Joba back to AAA for a few starts just to put him in his place. He is better than this. He has a sense of entitlement that is not earned yet. Here comes my man Melancon.

  16. Mac – You’re a life saver, literally. My order will be going out tommorrow. Much appreciated!

  17. Boys, me thinks the Yanks may need to make a deal for a starter.

  18. Maybe Joba has been smoken momas meth.

  19. J, I know exactly how you feel. My father was a 5 pack a day smoker of Lucky’s. And he stopped cold turkey on a dime. He got religion. I would always justify saying “they are close to a cure. I’m good.” But, I knew it was/is a ticking time bomb. This e-cig changed things, tho. At least for me.

  20. Wonderful ghetto food products, there, Mac.

  21. Somebody pass this along to Lev for me, please!

  22. Might be right, Kev. He’s bending a little. He’ll be alright. He should sit next to Jorge Posada on the bus and stop dodging him in the clubhouse.

  23. 5 packs a day? Legendary but god damn thats a 100 burns a day. Wow.

Hope the valetron works out for ya Mac

  24. Pacino smoken in tub was funniest fucken thing Ive seen all night. Thanks M4

  25. Kev as wretched as Joba is right now he’d still be your #2 behind Johan.

  26. Happy I can help, Mets. I don’t know why these things haven’t reached the “tipping point” yet except that the tobacco companies are working like hell on K Street to keep them down. But, it is a huge help.

  27. That junk aint my #2 supe. Keep your trash in your own yard neigbor.

  28. Ghetto food can occasionally be as intoxicating as a meal at Del Monico’s or Masa.

  29. Yeah, my dad was hard core. When I was young I can’t remember him without a cigarette in his mouth. This was in the day when LIRR and the stock exchange allowed smoking so he would be smoking 24/7. But, then one day he crumpled up his pack, threw it out and never went back. Not once.

  30. I know Kev…you’re right. Stick w/ Pelfrey or Nieve…much much better than Joba. Is it me or is anyone else getting the feeling the Yanks are gonna choke this game away? Would be a shame, considering they had a 4 run lead.

  31. Dreadful…

  32. I think the jet lag has finally hit the boys.

  33. lock up Tex for the 2009 AL gold glove @ 1B.

  34. I say they still win this game. Angels pen isn’t what it used to be. Looking to rock Fuentes in the 9th. I’m signing off for the night. Got a 7:45am swim meet for the daughter. These competitive swimmers are down right sadistic. No wonder Phelps toked a bong. G’nite. BBT brothers.

  35. Tough luck for Melancon. Remember when I mentioned an off night? Two innings ago I looked wrong. Right now, I dunno.

    Later fellas, protect your lungs!

  36. hope you’re right mac. Good night men. Stata buon.

  37. F-ing Joba … F-ing Ransom.

  38. Tex ALWAYS hustles

  41. Up and at ‘em.

  42. Figgins needs to take one in the small of the back after this act. Watch him going out of his way to get Jorge’s glove, no matter what the Jackass Angel announcers say:

  43. If thats not interference, I don’t know what is.

  44. Lev, agree with you on what he deserves, but I’d aim jusr a tiny bit south of there.
