Johnny Damon is Divine

Dear Bri,

The tears are streaming down my face as I write this.  Life is sooooo hard.   I couldn’t believe my ears when Scottie told me what you told him, and that was what you said that I said Scottie said to me.  I mean, REALLY NOT COOL.

I don’t understand why are you are being so childish with my/your feelings.  I deserve much more than what you did to Hidecki what-his-name.  And Randy Winn is soooo old.  I mean, come on.

Why don’t you listen to reason?  Everyone who’s anyone thinks that we should be together again.

At least whell always have my “dash” to third base.

Yours…4ever!

Johnny

  1. Doing some vanity searching, found a reference “the inimitable LibertyBoy” on a DN thread. That’s worth a free tshirt right there.

  2. the boblit fool posted something like “the sox are projected to hit more HRs this year than they did in 09″ Which would be great if that projection came from somebody besides him.

Its all about make believe up there.

  3. That thread was dead until we started juicing it. Now they just have hacks payrolled to “be controversial” and pull legs.

  4. I was only giving, er, HE was only giving credit where due.

    Only appropriate, right?

See, SOMEBODY does read your stuff … THEN we change subject.

  5. john miller to HOF…..nice

  6. yabba dabba. work sucks.

  7. Back again if only for a little while. I have been reading some of the comments on the Herald site and boblit made a comment about Jason Bay not being worth the 16 million that the Mets are paying him. My question is do any of you agree with that? I always liked Bay and thought he was a great ball player, so is he really worth all that much money or what. Just want to know.

  8. Jon Miller? The guy at espn?

He will be in my HOF when he finally tells Joe Morgan to stfu about the Big Red Machine and to stop repeating the same points 5-6-7 times during every broadcast.

  9. I’m going to go out on a limb, and predict that The Ravens WILL NOT win The Super Bowl on Sunday.

I have a gut feeling about it.

  10. bill james has the sox starting 9 projected to hit 165 HRs. The starting 9 last year was 188. That starting 9 is throwing out “c”‘s HR total and using martinez’s full season total for the catcher, which coincidentally is 23 and that is the same as the 8 vm hit for boston+ “c”‘s 15, and that is giving the SS merry-go-round credit for 10, which is probably low.

  11. Ghost, the peek a boo works to your advantage.

Most people don’t have the luxury of being able to post when they want.

Having multiple threads allows a poster to reply to a topic of interest when they have the opportunity.

When one goes on line, and responds to a paticular topic, they need just look at the time of the previous post ( same as now ) to see if anyone is on it. If they post on multiple threads, they then can go back and check to see which one drew a response.

What that allows is for a more popular topic to gather more interest, thus maintain more traffic.

More importantly, it lessens the probability of dead space. Instead of checking and leaving if no one is around, you can leave a comment at various threads, which in turn gives others an opportunity to respond on various topics, keeping them on the site.

Then instead of peeking in and leaving, a person has a better chance that someone else is responding to something.

Finally, for us morning folk, there is something to chime in on instead of waiting on a new thread.

Some sites also allow for members to start a new topic, and that is great when things are happening at the interweb speed.

Someone just got traded, start a thread on it. This takes some of the weight off expectant fathers who don’t have as much leisure time as before. The thread can sustain itself.

  12. Ellen, Bay didn’t sign for much more than the Sox offered, just an option year.

My two cents is that either the Sox were actually concerned about Bay holding up physically, or some egos got in the way.

Bay was a perfect fit in Beantown, I can’t believe that he would rather hit in Citi Field.

Something else was a contributing factor, IMHO.

  13. Sorry, new fathers ( although we have expectant ones also ).

  14. Spirit, thanks for the info. I also thought Bay was good for Boston, but then again I don’t know all that much about baseball, so thanks once again.

  15. Hey Spirit (and Supe) later because I know you guys are Neil Peart fans..

Hockey is big in Canada. We have network TV run games as with the moniker “Hockey Night in Canada”. It even has it’s own musical theme song. Listen to this boring rendition of it then I will send Neil Pearts version

  16. Now here is Pearts version

  17. CDY, I loved Hockey Night in Canada, even though I wasn’t a big Don Cherry fan until he went national.

I always maintained that if the USA broadcasts used the HNC camera angles, it would draw more interest in America.

Gave up looking for those feeds years ago, but I tried.

  18. They now play Neils version before every Leaf game at the Air Canada Center – not that it helps the sad sack Leafs get motivated though *LOL*

  23. Thanks for the Cardinals drop, I was looking at those the last time you mentioned it.

    You must be getting psyched.

By the way, descalzo is spanish for shoeless.

  24. Mesage from the Dodgers or SFGiants? Fuck the Mets?

    No?

  27. Nat, nice move on the mlb.tv. Now we just have to hope they didnt fix the glitch that let us all enjoy it last year. I know when you listen to sirius online if somebody else logs on with your info while you are listening it boots you.

  28. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I love this guy!

  29. True, J.

I don’t see how they will, though. Not in today’s wireless world.

For instance, I’m supposed to be able to get the feed on my IPhone (soon as I figure out which friggin app of theirs to download!) … which means I get the feed wherever I am. I don’t see how they can deliver a mobile feed, and at the same time put limits on the login feed (they’re the same!), but what the fuck do I know?

Fingers crossed, payback for your generosity last season.

  30. Thank you Brother, very kind of you.

  31. J why is MLBtv different in the states. Up here I split the cost with my two sons and we all login at the same time and never had a problem. Yearly cost includes playoffs and WS… the only problem I have is when the Blue Jays play the Yanks either in Toronto of NY it gets blacked out

  32. J, if you want …

Didn’t you experiment last season with the Missus to find out if you could both catch the feed at the same time?

If you have the time and the hardware, try it when you can (2 at a time). You can try it with any ’09 game. Today, I was watching the late September Blowsox games (Yankees were stealing freely on VMart).

BTW, I don’t know if this is new from last season, but they have a “Condensed Games” feature, where you see only the “payoff” pitch in each at bat. It’s weird, with no sound (game, crowd sounds are heard but no broadcaster). Little like being at the game, but takes getting used to. I prefer the excessively long, natural version.

  33. We didnt have any problems last year, Canada. I bought the package and we were all logging in at the same time. I was just saying I hoped they didnt fix that so that we can all login at the same time again.

And I get blacked out when they play TB as well.

  34. YW!

  35. CD, I have the same local blackout (Marlins! Who gives a shit?) … but NO POST SEASON, which sucks.

  36. I dont think its a glitch then J cause we have been able to log on for years like this and if it was a glitch I am sure they would have caught on

  37. ’78 Game 6 on MLB cable right now.

  38. check that, YES network

  39. dick. Ya had me switchin channels and everything and now I cant even watch it.

  40. Grandos Juevos is spanish for spirit’s package.

  41. spoke to the Genehut on facebook. he wouldn’t want to brag, but I’ll relay that he said he was at an MLB dinner with Kay and pitched his book at him. Kay was receptive.

  42. not surprised a bit that they got along.

  43. Can it be true, what Putz is saying about his injury, that the Mets told him to stay quiet about it and they never even gave him a physical before sealing the deal?

Even Straw over there has given up on Omar.

  44. vazquez rates highly but I knew that.

  45. The rest of the numbers are too complicated for me. Trying to figure out what WAR means.

  46. Me and Sally got a pretty good discussion goin on at his place.

  47. go to the “glossary” but I am sure you didnt need me to tell you that

  48. The link I dropped was from highest $ amount to lowest but I am sure you figured that out too.
