Tomorrow is the beginning of the regular season, and hopefully the start of the Yankees winning #28. What ever happens it looks like it will be a very interesting and exciting year. GO YANKEES ! ! ! Happy Easter to all of you !
I wasn’t sure about going to opening day in Baltimore on Friday, but since Mike Cuellar died, I feel that I have to go.
I am probably the only Oriole fan that regularly goes to Camden Yards with my Cuellar jersey…….. . I’m sure that they will give him a special mention………. I hope that Mike’s surviving family is there, or at least watching on TV. I have 3 Cuellar jerseys, and I’ll be wearing one, and holding up the other 2.
JOE PAGE revolutionized the relief pitcher’s role. Page’s career wasn’t that long, but he was truly the first “closer” ever in the major leagues…….. and he played for The Yankees.
Happy Easter to you all. Enjoy your health, your life, your families, and the Opening of the 2010 Season. Good luck to everybody’s team of choice. Thanks to LB and all the great folks who contribute here, we’re truly blessed having the BBT. See you all in a few days !
So far google tells me we’ve had 50,100 articles on Redsox Run Prevention. I’d like to add one more
Joey I’ll put Angelo Raschi in my all time starting 5, i had him as an Honorable mention, but you shamed me into it. Also didn’t see a DH box but Mattingly would get my vote also.
It doesnt actually say this is the lineup but I did read that Nickhead should be good to go, so I would think this is it…
Lineup
Derek Jeter SS
Nick Johnson DH
Mark Teixeira 1B
Alex Rodriguez 3B
Robinson Cano 2B
Jorge Posada C
Curtis Granderson CF
Nick Swisher RF
Brett Gardner LF
Thats the “A Lineup”. Looking for alot of runs from that 9 this year. I would love for the Yankees to take becky deep 5X, just like last August in fenway
Happy Easter all! anxiously waiting for to nights game NYY against Boston at Fenway Park. The new season is finally here, I think the Yanks will win tonight (I hope). GO YANKEES! ! !
"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at-bats a season. That means I played 7 years without ever hitting the ball." - Mickey Mantle
Hey fellas that was a fun link, all time greatest Yankees
C- Yogi, 1B- Gehrig, 2b-Lazzari, ss-Jeter, 3b- Al / Nettles, of- Mantle, of-Joe D, of- Babe
Ford, Ruffing, Gomez, Guidry, Mo
Hm….. Raschi, Pettitte, Reynolds, Goose

Sparky Lyle and Vic Raschi belong on the all-time Yankee list. Lyle was better than Gossage.

The first true closer ever of the 20th Century.

C.O.B you are right about Lyle, he was good. I used to enjoy watching him pitch. Well time to close for the night, you have a good Easter.

Happy Easter and Happy Opening Day to everybody.
duke sucks
I think I am a little worried about Frankie C.
Tiger or the field next weekend?
All i am going to say is I wouldnt bet against him.
I remember when Don Mattingly played 3rd base for a few games…….. A LEFT-HANDED 3rd baseman !!! Funny thing is, he was actually pretty good at it.
So much for me watching baseball this year

jrz I’ll take the field
With that said, Tiger is now a lock.
haha that’s right 5 beans on Viagra’s newest spokesman. Weren’t you the one that locked up Cuse as the NCAA champ? Go Butler BTW.
That was me. Not only did I have The Cuse, I had duke making a 2nd round exit.
jrz any insight on what tonight’s starting line up’s gonna look like?
I think its already posted at lohud, Supe. Lemme look.
