CC Sabathia stared in as Vincent Padilla thought twice about shaking the bat at him. Jorge Posada accompanied Padilla up the line, probably reminding El Rey De Plunk that ever since Texas cut him loose he can’t get a proper Jew to represent him. Padilla inspected the bat for cracks and took his base. I don’t know how everyone else feels, but I wouldn’t want angry-as-an-elephant-seal CC dropping fistbombs on the top of my head unless I was wearing a mattress store. That said, the earlier plunking of Robbie Cano was rectified – or simply, addressed. Another one of those starts when CC’s long fuse doesn’t light until the fourth inning or so. ARod had that kind of clutch showing that he never had batting second or seventh in one of Joe Torre’s “shake-up” lineups. Even Mariano Rivera was on his tightest edge. Two games left.
Meanwhile, the Mets are making every out into a opera and every run into a mini-series. I haven’t seen and felt this much emotion in sports since Cyndi Lauper sang the anthem at Wrestlemania 1. Mike Pelfrey, again, showed no fear of the strike zone. The bats worked like they should in the fourth inning, collectively sensing a weak moment in Twins’ starter Kevin Slowey and pouncing. You don’t have to put the ball over the fence to stack up runs, just jump on strikes and put a hard ball in play – although it was damn nice to see David Wright lace an opposite field nugget for a solo HR to right at the Citi. Brilliant. This is a first place team that the Mets rolled over last night. Two games left.

morning fellas, great win in LA last night. I caught up to the game in the 8th inning, it sounded like a loss, i was stringing together a long list of special expletives at our boy chamberlain while listening in the truck radio in his inning of work. Amazing job of grinding down Broxton by Rodriguez, Cano, Posada, Granderson, the kid Huffmam’s hit was the deal breaker, and Granderson legged out the tying run when Loney lost a split second trying for the DP. Then Cano hit the bomb off Sherrill to win it in the 10th. Poor Bigelow Joe T had to watch in horror as his closer imploded.
Rodriguez with another good night, I tell you, if it takes bringing up Torre’s name to fire him up maybe K Long can read him excerpts from the Torre book everyday instead of working the batting cage, or better yet do both. Good news that Eiland is coming back on Tuesday maybe they can take Burnett out of his straight jacket and he can start to pitch to his pay scale. Enjoy the day fellas, a great day of baseball in NY on Sunday as Boston piles up the names on their DL list, somehow they keep winning but that can’t go on for too long with Pedroia, Ellsbury, and V-Mart out, at least that’s what I’m hoping..

Im in favor of Strasburg earning his way onto the all star game. A guy who has worked his balls off all season ( looking at you Big Pelf) deserves his slot. Although with the dumb home field advantage rule, I must admit it makes sense to bring the fireballer in for an inning of relief. I see bothsides but kind of old school and think if he makes the next 15 all star gamesstarting next year ( he’s that good right???), we will be all all ok.
Amazins are cruising along winning series pretty easy. 13 wins against the AL. Its back to all out NL ball in San Juan tonight.

Dodgers blew that game because of Torre.Put Broxton in to early then left him in to sink or swim, just like a typical Torre move.Now LA fans know what Yankees fans put up with over the past years

kev there’s 2 slots per position player so you’ll need to drop Pedroia & replace him w/ another 2B.
