For those who believed in their team, congrats – you saw the Yanks pull out all the stops for a tenth-inning victory last night. The Dodgers bunted their way around the bases as throws caromed around foul territory. That’s when I thought going to sleep would be more rewarding. Joe Torre went to Jonathan Broxton on Saturday for a four-out save, up three runs in the eighth. Last night, the big L.A. Dodger closer had no Mo left in the tank. BTW Mo went six outs for the win & save, capping off a three-inning, six-strikeout, two-save, and one-double-yoo weekend in Chavez Ravine. Yanks take the series. Robinson Cano is the most dangerous man in the game and is half-way to an MVP. Joba Chamberlain is nowhere near an MVP.
Who do these Mets think they are with their home runs and division-challenging and sharp pitching? Mets stay right up in Atlanta’s rear view mirror, darting to the left and right, now a half-game behind the NL East leaders after their loss to Detroit. Jon Niese induced thirteen ground ball outs from the Minnesota Twins, and the staff collected eighteen in total. Bobby Parnell’s return is an “over-the-top” moment for a bullpen that was already on fire. On to the Marlins for a three-game set in Miami. Florida has not been good to the Mets but now is a good time to flip that pancake (or some other nifty metaphor).

babe hahahahahahahahahahahahahah
That strikeout to walk ratio for Lee is nuts.
Levi, ya think Lee’s asking price is going up by the minute?
Porn with jrz’s Nubian beer wench and Yogi Berra on CenterStage? Sign me up to work that camera. I’ll take a pitcher like Sal and Butchie with Bernie.
Hey Slamma – where you been? I’ve been down, but not out.
Nubian beer wench LMAO
19:1 is ridiculous. I havent even looked to see what the best ever is but I would have to think it is nowhere near that. I mean, thats 15 walks in a 300 K season.
I been running around trying to get this POS truck running good
Going to the Yankee Game tomorrow
Check David Wells in 1998 jrz, not sure what the ratio is but I know he had like 7 walks at the all star break
163/26…5.62 led league
Where ya sitting Slamm??
Bleachers. Tix were free because I got a season package for the Staten Island A-league Yankees
Brett saberhagen had 11:1 ratio in 1994, I think thats all time
I was gonna say I didnt think anybody had 9.5 (1/2) but figured somebody had done it.
John Sterling must be goin’ nuts
Spit on Retardi for me
Fuckin Ritardi
And whenever Ritardi does something fucked up his explanations SUCK!!!!!!
Yankee bats have to quit trying to win all games in the 8th or 9th.
J- I think his price is going up but Zdurincek starts thinking he is JP Ricciardi and Lee isn’t going anywhere.
Fuckin’A 1Yank, try winning a game in the third or fourth for christs sake
Would the Mariners take the same prospects they traded to Philly to send him back?
I think he is going in the next week, I am just saying it wont be 3 maybes. It will be 1 no doubter and 2 maybes to a team that he will make a difference on. I am thinking Texas.
Meant to say “BIG” difference
I would not be too happy if I was an AL team loaning money to the Rangers so they could go out and get Cliff Lee.
The Rangers are borrowing truckloads of dough from MLB and shouldn’t be allowed to be in on Lee.
Brad Lidge blew a save in the ninth on a 3 run HR by Joey Votto and will probably get the win after the Phillies scored 2 in the 10th.
Goodnight Grunts
He is owed less than 5M. It may piss people off but I dare you to tell Nolan he cant have what he wants.
He has the #1 ranked minor league system in baseball…..I think.
later
Boston beating TB 8-3 in the 8th, I guess the hot start of TB has really cooled down, Boston will be only 1 game back of The Yankees if they hold on and win tonight.
Nolan, you can’t have what you want on my dime.
Mets just scored 2 in the ninth to tie it in San Juan.
What Nolan wants, Nolan gets
Why cant he if he has the best offer? Its not like its a sealed bid.
Nolan Ryan is great for baseball!
Why should he be allowed to take on $5 mill in payroll when the team is bankrupt?
Why don’t 5 other teams just stop paying their bills and borrow from general fund?
Later guys, better game by the Yankees tomorrow
Why should the Rangers be any different than the banks?
See ya 1Yank.
see ya
MLB can function without the Rangers. The Yanks don’t stop being the Yanks because the Rangers go bankrupt.
Its not like Nolan is giving himself a bonus.
If Ryan made the deal it would be to win now and mortgage his future, right?
It’s not a personal thing against Ryan’s salary. For the money the Yanks pay the league for the league’s own disbursements, the Yanks can start an upstart league themselves and still be a profitable enterprise. That would probably never happen, but that’s always the baseline.
The whole mortgage his future thing was exactly what got them in to this. The present and future are already mortgaged. ARod, Tex, etc…
How does Nolan Ryan factor in the equation?
Why should that organization be allowed to better themselves in the race at the expense of the Angels, Twins, Tigers, White Sox, Yankees, Red Sox and Rays who are all contributing to Ranger bills?
Jerry had to get his closer work tonight so brought him in down 6-4 in the eighth and had Feliciano pitch the ninth after they tied it. Makes sense……LOSS.
Bobby Valentine is hanging around waiting for Jerry to collapse.
earning potential?
Darling Sharting all over Takahashi on the Met post game- They must be getting ready to bring Ollie back from Siberiaffalo.
