You don’t have to be a stat maven to figure out that without Mariano Rivera, the Yanks can’t hold a score passed the sixth inning. Joba Chamberlain doesn’t have anyone’s rules to blame anymore. He’s out of the pen since last year. I suppose that I should be happy that Brett Gardner didn’t come down hard on an ankle to save Joba’s sweaty hide. CHoP belongs behind a hot grill wearing a funny hat. Don’t even start me on Robertson. All things considered the Yanks cut through their zigzag travel schedule in the first half without losing a big piece. Nick Johnson doesn’t count, no one thought he’d make it out of April. That said, the Red Sox are down most of their lineup and a good portion of their staff on the trainer’s table, and are just a half game back. I haven’t heard one coach’s absence get mentioned by the Red Sox, not anywhere. ARod’s go-ahead home run in the first game of the series was thought by ARod to be a ninth-inning walkoff. Let’s wake it up, fellas.
Jon “Spuds” Niese k’d eight Nationals and when you get that big hit and go up early, your bullpen can breathe a little easier. All right, so it was a dropped third out with the bases loaded, but you get the picture. Mets must have sacrificied a chicken and buried its innards underneath second base. It’s been a while since I’ve seen daylight executed well. This was a must-win for the Mets, after dropping a heartbreaker in game one and moving on to face Stephen Strasburg today. R.A. Dickey faces off, knuckles-a-blaring.

You have a point there. Then the question turns to the coming lack of franchise players once Jeter and Posada are out of the lineup. In any case, you have a vacuum that you will need to fill with gamers.

??
Then you have the question of whether or not Jeter will move to the OF.
Besides HRs and SBs is there a career # that he isnt #1 in for SS’s?
Maybe it is the 3000 hits he is waiting for to make the move?
a terrible terrible question…when Jeter moves to the outfield. To his credit he’s only had one play this year when his ass looked SSSLLLLOOOOWWWW up the middle…so far…that I’ve seen.
baby walk
Hopefully the Yanks flip the pancake like they did in winter ’09.
If he has his sights set on 3500 hits he knows he will have to move to the OF.
I have seen more than 1 that I thought he should have got to.
Life goes one way.
I’m out for the evening. Later, Jrz, have a good one!
10 walk off losses for the mets so far? Thats ALOT of pie for the opponents
Gardner is doing great
Granderson is slowly settling in and will be hitting like he is capable real soon
Swisher is Swisher, he has proven himself since he took over right field full time
Makes me wonder if Crawford is needed at all at his high price
I see more important needs in other places on the Yankees than the outfield
I think if the Yankees bolster there bull pen, get rid of most of them losers and build up there bench just a tad and get 1 more good starter when Pettitte and Vazquez are gone, STRONG
In PHX,Az tonight going to the Doogers/Douchebags game Sunday.I will spit a hocker on Torre with well wishes from the BBT
I think the Yanks problem right now is
Jeter in a prolong slump
Tex not being himself so far this year, power and avg down
A-Rod power down ; still getting the RBI’s
Posada not hitting as DH in the clutch the way he needs to/ more worried about being full time catcher
When those problems are fixed watch out
Why all the hype over Lester from the media and very little over Pettitte?
Lester 10-3 ERA 2.76
Pettitte 10-2 ERA 2.82
