I would like to express my sympathy to all yankee fans over the passing of George Steinbrenner…in my mind, he was perhaps the greatest owner baseball has ever had and he always and i mean always went the extra mile for his fans and i respect and admire him very much. i wish all his family the best and i keep them all in my prayers…his stature and charity work as well as his accomplishments transcend baseball.
A one of a kind has left us. Was there a better owner? More revered? More reviled? Probably not.
well said Mike…the one thing you could always say about George was that his main objective was to win the WS each & every year for the NY Yankees & their fans, & spared no expense (sometimes foolishly) to achieve that objective.
