Joe Girardi was fired as manager of the New York Yankees after Saturday night’s loss to the Rangers. Girardi will be replaced by Derek Jeter, who will be act as the Yankees’ player-manager for the remainder of 2010.
Rivera will survive, I think the 2 innings he pitched the night before hurt. He will do his usual good work in the play offs, It is the rest of the pen got me worried
@LIB (re: it’s a good game for AJ and it shows some good signs. Stop your bitching, collectively!!!)
When the score is 2-2 and the 2 runs your pitcher has given up are a result of base on balls to someone other than Young, Guerrero, Cruz or Kinsler there is need for bitching and concern.
When the stiff on the mound is nothing more than a career .500 fake who had one magnificent year in his career which coincidently was his walk year (and excuse me but IMHO career year in the walk year usually spells PED’s to cynics like me – especially if you are a .500 pitcher at best) in Toronto with Doc Halliday holding his hand and corking his ears so the marbles wouldn’t spill out – there is need for bitching and concern.
In hindsight though I don’t know who to bitch about more – The stiff pitcher that was and is or the stiff GM with the Stienbrenner cheque book for being enarmoured by and hoodwinked into signing him
LIB the first two runners to score (Andrus and Murphy) both were walks that came around to score. The point I am trying to make is you dont walk those kind of hitters just to have the likes of Young, Guerrero, Cruz or Kinsler try to knock them in. Burnett has had too many of those kinds of situations all his career which is why he is nothing more than a .500 pitcher. I agree the September AJ is much better than the June AJ but in the end he is a .500 pitcher at best
Well thanks to my compatriots the Yankees wont be in second place heading to Tampa…. thats the good thing…. the bad thing is watching this fuckin game and the B lineup dickhead RETARDI has put out there today
HELLO Folks, how you all doing this fine Sunday? Just got in turn on the game in the 4th inning and see both A-Rod and Swisher are out of the lineup, WHY?
Moseley pitched a good game, he kept up with Lee, the 2 walks hurt him like they did with AJ. Thats because these teams know they can push the envelope on the bases with either Posada or Cervelli catching
and the B team on the field doesnt really help either. I know Swisher is wobbling and understandable to take a day off…. but A-DICK should be playing, Gardiner should be playing and a consistent day in day out lineup should be had
I am like you 1yank… I go on gut feeling and right now my gut says this team is going no where. I say that because they only have one pitcher that they can count on. Petitte is an IF, Hughes has a pitch count and based on last years playoff performance a BIGGER IF – and I have absolutely no confidence in AJ. The starting lineup has NOT been consistent all year with individual players taking turns being hot … NEVER has this team played on all cyclinders all year and I think its a little too late for them to start now
I dont care how bulldog proud Posado is someone has to tell him that he is no longer a capable catcher….that same person should buy the bus ticket to get Cervelli to Scranton where he finishes off a good AAA career
What up BBT????? Work and home have been smacking me around pretty good ( although I did escape to Bermuda with Mrs. 86 and Jr. over labor day). Hope all has been well witht eh BBT crew.
Once I get my foundation all set here at work, I’ll be able to slack off again and annoy the hell out of you guys like the true yankee hater I am.
Im pulling for Giants out west and rays in the East.
Yanks looked good this weekend.
BIG BLUE!!! Hakeem Nicks has arrived!!! First win in the new stadium.
"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times. I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times. You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at-bats a season. That means I played 7 years without ever hitting the ball." - Mickey Mantle
The damn binder finally brings in Albaladejo, who has been good since he was back in AAA. ERA OF 208
OK A-Rod 3 run double
Yankees leave bases loaded again.
Rivera blows a save, can not believe it
Yankees lose again, Rivera hit the batter with bases loaded to bring in Texas winning run. This is not a good sign for the Play offs.
Mariano Rivera is useless. Send him down to Scranton for the AAA playoffs.
The Orioles pick up yet another game on the Yankees tonight.
32 games back, and closing fast.

Even the great Rivera has an off night, his are just far and few in between and a lot less than most closers

I’m neither saying AJ is a CY candidate nor that he has to be. I’ll cite Game 2 as an example of what can be with AJ.
2 runs were not on walks, the first run scored on a busted call at second base on the Jeter tag. The Rangers had two hard hit balls against him.
LIB the first two runners to score (Andrus and Murphy) both were walks that came around to score. And of course the thing that really fuels my anger – “HE IS NOT A PITCHER THAT DESERVES THE MONEY HE GETS!!!!”
G-Men defense sucks as bad as Yankees pitching
Well thanks to my compatriots the Yankees wont be in second place heading to Tampa…. thats the good thing…. the bad thing is watching this fuckin game and the B lineup dickhead RETARDI has put out there today
HELLO Folks, how you all doing this fine Sunday? Just got in turn on the game in the 4th inning and see both A-Rod and Swisher are out of the lineup, WHY?
one word 1yank and it rhymns with RETARDI!!!
By now I gather you have noticed by now that one of the better pitchers in MLB is no hitting the B team
TB loses—– 5-4 to the Blue Jays
WOW !!!!! it only took 6 innings to get a ball out of the infield
Thank you Canada,
OK jeter, a double
1yank you are a good luck charm today…. they were playing dead until you got here:)
I hope so Canada, they need to win this game and gain a game on TB
A walk cost them a run again
2nd walk 2nd run,
I wish they would bring Montero or Romine
and these guys are playing without Hamilton…… I dont think we make it out of the 1st round if we face these guys
Now the pen comes in and gives up the hits
I am like you 1yank… I go on gut feeling and right now my gut says this team is going no where. I say that because they only have one pitcher that they can count on. Petitte is an IF, Hughes has a pitch count and based on last years playoff performance a BIGGER IF – and I have absolutely no confidence in AJ. The starting lineup has NOT been consistent all year with individual players taking turns being hot … NEVER has this team played on all cyclinders all year and I think its a little too late for them to start now
and then there is the RETARDI factor and that fuckin binder
I’m about 35 pounds over weight and I could probably steal 2nd on Posada or Cervelli
I dont care how bulldog proud Posado is someone has to tell him that he is no longer a capable catcher….that same person should buy the bus ticket to get Cervelli to Scranton where he finishes off a good AAA career
They are 3 outs away from being swept by Texas, I guess Retardi don’t care or 3 of the teams better bats would not be sunning on the bench
maybe its a plan 1yank…maybe the BINDER is telling him to enter the playoffs as a wildcard for a .0000000000325% better chance of winning
I have had enough of Granderson too
I am tired of this team being called out on 3rd strikes looking and walking away smiling
I am tired of this team 1yank…… have a good night man
Now the Yankees have to face TB, let’s hope they get there sh*t together
I hope their plane crashes in the Gulf of mexicans
You too Canada!
