Hey Sandy, Blow Me!

I’m OK, thanks for asking.  The gasoline situation is tense.  Those who want to help, can’t, because you don’t know when the gas will flow again. I filled up the tank on Monday night.  I have three-quarters left but with a noreaster queuing up, I’m not making any extra trips.

For my part, my family is just fine.  The Old Man, Lev, and Ghost were hunkered down under the Old Man’s generator-assisted roof in NJ while LB & Co. were high and dry in Western Queens.  We are blessed.  The Old Man is still without power, and has picked up gas on work trips up to Albany.  There is rationing now.  RATIONING.

Can’t say the same for a lot of very good people down the Shore (Jrz still has peeps there), in Staten Island (just saw on FB that some in Supe’s family were flooded out), Coney Island (Mets4Ever, remember him?  A Coney Island guy), and the Rockaways – which I hear are utterly devastated, heard straight from the mouths of folks who went down to ferry out family stranded down there.  Relief efforts are hampered by the gas shortage.  Everyone is holing up almost instinctively.

There have been lootings even in nice neighborhoods.

Long Beach went under lockdown from within.  Lots of cops have houses down there, and they keep the worst elements out to protect their own.

No power in even the nicest neighborhoods on the north side of Queens.

Fuck you, Mayor Bloomberg.  Worst Mayor Ever.

And fuck you Media, I’m glad I have a blog, because I can say that the coverage has been all-kiss-the-mayor-and-president’s-ass and a huge insult and disservice has been inflicted on good people effected.

  6. David Herndon claimed of waivers from Toronto – What is it with CashASS and pitchers who are need, or are recovering from Tommy John surgery. While were at it what’s with CashASS and old has beens (like announcing he is interested in Hunter). Is this part of the reduce payroll to avoid the luxury tax shit. Lib is right the Yankees won’t right themselves until baseball collapses

…NEW BERN, N.C. (AP) — A judge has sentenced former New York Yankees pitching prospect Brien Taylor to 38 months in prison after he pleading guilty in August to distributing crack cocaine.

Taylor, 40, told U.S. District Court Judge Louise W. Flanagan during Wednesday’s sentencing hearing that he was sorry for causing so much pain to his family and his five daughters.

”I made poor decisions,” he said softly.

His mother, Betty Taylor, and sisters and friends were in the courtroom for the hearing. They declined to comment. Halerie Mahan, Taylor’s attorney, also declined to comment.

Flanagan said Taylor had been forthright and warned him to be mindful of his conduct as well as whom he associates with when he is released from prison. He’ll face three years of supervised release after his prison term.

”There will be no fine, since you have children to support,” Flanagan said.

Taylor, the No. 1 overall selection in the 1991 draft, could have received between 5 and 40 years in prison. He had been in custody since his March arrest for selling crack cocaine and powder cocaine to undercover agents with the Carteret County Sheriff’s Office over several months.

In all, Taylor had distributed more than 200 grams of crack cocaine and about 100 grams of powder cocaine, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina.

A federal grand jury indicted Taylor in June. Flanagan gave Taylor credit for time served in the sentencing. Taylor was recommended to serve his sentence in Butner, located about 35 miles north of Raleigh.

As the top overall pick out of East Carteret High School in Beaufort, the hard-throwing lefty got a then-record $1.55 million signing bonus. But after excelling at Double-A ball, he got into a fight in December 1993 and injured his pitching shoulder.

He was never the same after shoulder surgery and never pitched in the major leagues.

Six Teams Interested In Nick Swisher
By Mark Polishuk [November 9 at 8:46pm CST]
    .
FRIDAY: In addition to the Rangers and Mariners, the Orioles, Phillies, Giants, Braves, and Nationals all have some level of interest in Swisher, reports Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com. Several clubs are willing to offer three years, and Heyman estimates an annual salary in the $11-13MM range.
    .
THURSDAY: The Rangers, Mariners and three other teams have “serious interest” in free agent Nick Swisher, reports Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News (via Twitter). Unsurprisingly, Swisher plans to reject the Yankees’ qualifying offer and look for a long-term contract on the open market.

DREAMER, such a little DREAMER…… but then there was a fool who signed Werth to that ridiculous contract so maybe there is hope for SWISH-A-DICKWAD

  12. If Duquette signs that fat degenerate to a long-term contract with the Orioles, I’m going to blow up his fucking car.

    ColtsOriolesBullet November 10, 2012 at 1:43 pm
  13. I think you are safe Shoe – Swish-a-DICKWAD could hold Markakos’ jock strap defensively in right field and Reynolds can corkscrew himself into the ground just as good if not better with close to equal results :) I don’t believe 6 teams are creaming their shorts for this idiot – that’s all agent propaganda talking

  14. make that “COULDN’T” hold

  15. 7 years / 126 mill??? really? for Swoosher??

  16. That’s what he wants Babe – we know baseball is broken but if some idiot GM signs him for that he should have his head examined cause he would be ceritifable

    .
    .
Brian CashASS – David Herndon , Eli Whiteside, Angel Intravention (free agent from the Dominican Republic), A Wing and A Prayer

  21. I thought Dave Herndon was a basketball announcer???

  22. Can’t be Babe – they don’t have pitchers recovering from Tommy John in basketball – mind you he could be considering announcing as a second career because he can’t keep up with the Jones’ with his 600K baseball salary – HOW THE FUCK IS CASHASS STILL EMPLOYED AS A GM?????????????????????????????????????????????????

  23. Who the fuck is Eli Whiteside??? Didn’t he invent the cotton gin?? WTF Gashman??? I sure hope they can land Hamilton to replace Swoosher and for christs sake get some starting pitching!!!!!

  24. Well it looks like another winter where Cashman will be completely useless to improving the team in any way, as usual he will pick up players off other teams garbage heap and hope that a miracle occurs to make them super stars, while other teams are improving Cashman has the Yankees in a downward slide.

  35. Shoe have you not been paying attention to what’s going on ? I don’t think the Blue Jays are going to be in last place. The is talk that Mike Hargrove might be managing them. They were decimated by injures in 2012. Had they not been they would have fared much better.
    .

  36. ARod is a douche bag

  37. C-HAB:

Yes, I have been paying attention. At the end of the 2009 season when the Blue Jays traded Roy Halladay from a team that had gone 75-87, everyone was saying that they would fall below 70 wins. I, on the other hand …… pointed out that the Blue Jays had managed to win at least 80 games or more in 10 of the previous 12 season in the toughest division in all of baseball, and I predicted that the Blue Jays would have a winning season WITHOUT HALLADAY in 2010 because of the stability of their franchise for over a decade. And what happened ??? The Blue Jays went 85-77 in 2010, just like I said they would, and just as all of the “experts” said that they would not even win 70 games without Halladay.

So now, I am going to go out on a limb and I am choosing to believe that the immediate impact of their recent blockbuster acquisition from Miami will not be felt in their W-L column in 2013, and that the much-hyped Blue Jays will be disappointing ………. much to the surprise of those same “experts” that had predicted Blue Jay gloom and doom after the departure of Roy Halladay.

Never underestimate the thought process and the baseball mind of the Shoeless One, C-HAB.

    ColtsOriolesBullet November 20, 2012 at 2:39 pm
  38. I am not sure who will win the division, but the way things are looking so far I will agree on the Yankees finishing in last place in the East and with this trying to save money Hal is trying to do by 2014 is going to cost the Team big time, going to be a lot of empty seats. You know how Yankee fans are, they will not go out of there way to go and see a losing team, going to cost big dollars to save pennies

  39. Hope all you BBT folks and your families have an healthy and enjoyable Thanksgiving !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  40. Where are the Yankees – where is CashASS in http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/ ? Oh they were on yesterday – told Ibanez to sit tight as pitching is the first priority. IMHO CashASS is holding pat and resigning or hope to resign Petitte, Kuroda and Mo – I have no idea how he thinks the Yankees are going to win with the same team they had last year.
    .
Shoe I know you have a magnificent baseball mind but this time I am not going to agree with you. I HATE the Toronto Blue Jays and their PED infested team (I hate Bautista more than BIG POOPSHIT) – they may not finish first but they are NOT going to finish last – no way no how. I will go on a limb and say they will be in the playoffs

  41. You may be right C-HAB, but if someone had told you before the start of the 2012 season that the Orioles would finish 26 games ahead of the Red Sox, would you have believed that ?

The Blue Jays didn’t fall apart without Halladay in 2010, and I’m not buying their vast improvement to a 90-plus win team until I see it.

    ColtsOriolesBullet November 20, 2012 at 9:40 pm
  42. Shoe to be honest no I wouldn’t have – I thought the Orioles would improve because of Showalter but not to the point that they do. I also didn’t think the Sux would fold like a cheap suit but then I didn’t know that they were a trainwreck waiting to happen in the locker room which I think was more the problem than lack of talent.
    .
The Jays however had a very good pitching staff until all the injuries happened – they got a way better pitching staff now. They had juiced up Bautista, and Encarnacion and a good group of young athletic hitters – they just got more of them now including a bonified lead off man. So if they stay away from the injuries like they had last year, I think they will make some noise.

Swing Away!
