Bullshit. The fences in right-field were like that because of Ruth. The stadium was built FOR HIM. Yankee Stadium was a nightmare for right-handed hitters, such as DiMaggio. It had nothing to do with the deadball era, and everything to do with giving Ruth (and any other left-handed batters) easy access for home runs. If your theory were true, then left center field and left field wouldn’t have been canyons, as they were.
Also, Aaron took care of himself, and Ruth didn’t. If you eat, drink, and smoke to gluttony, than you pay the price.
